Millsap is the starting PF on how many teams?

I can only think of a handful....which is basically saying we are valuating him too high on the trade market and as the starting PF on the Jazz.

Make Millsap our Odom.

Tremendous heart and desire and skillset, but it sucks for such a good player but Sap is only 6'7" and get owned by almost every power forward in this league and especially this conference. If the Utah Jazz in the Western conference want to be in the playoffs then Paul Millsap needs to be our third big (6th man) or be traded before next season because a year of him on the bench will take his trade value down more. It really is just to bad that it comes to this but the difference in height between him and Favors is abig difference. The only way I see Millsap being able to not have his weaknesses exposed so much would be play next to a 7 footer with a defined defensive game but those are very hard to come, they are very rare.

I have 12 by my count. With 3 maybe's. My biggest problem is that out of the 12 teams only 4 of them are in the playoffs.

Who gives a crap if he can start for The Raptors.

The question is how many playoff teams would Paul Millsap start for?

I got about 11 no 2 yes 3 maybe

The next question is how many playoff teams would have interest in Paul Millsap if he suddenly became available

I got 16 yes

For people like me that bothered to watch all the games last year, the one thing we can probably agree on is Millsap played too many minutes last year. For Millsap to be the Millsap we want him to be 35mpg is too much. He is probably more like a 27mpg player.

I say you put Millsap on the bech and bring him in at about the 4 minute mark of the first period and play him at the 3. Then you slide him to the 4 for the second period and let him match up against the other teams back-up 4. Millsap wins that battle 9 times out of 10. And depending on the match up he finishes.

If he can't accept this role then trade him.

ya'll just got some knowledge dropped on you.

I've been in this neighborhood of opinion, but I've been arguing from the POV of Millsap, and therefore I've been a bit more generous to him. What you've said here makes the most sense from a team perspective.

That said, we are in rebuilding mode, so if we were to draft Biyombo, then I'd advocate for trading Jefferson (for help on the wings), and starting Millsap alongside Favors until Bismack is groomed (then revisiting this whole scenario for a second or third time)

He would start on Orlando for sure, Bass is a poor man's Millsap. He would start on Washington, Blatche is pathetic. He would start on Philly, Brand is old. He would start on Denver, Kmart sucks. He would probably start on NO too, but West would have the seniority start.

That was pretty bad counting on your part, and look how many are non playoff teams.

Even if Millsap wouldn't start on a lot of teams, he would get minutes on every team in the league. He has value whether it's as a starter or coming off the bench. I can't see the Jazz separating with Millsap, but then again we couldn't see them separating from Deron.

Yea Im just saying the Jazz should make Millsap be an Odom type player and start him at the 3 in some situations like against the Lakers.

Milsap is better than Lee, Scola, Brand, and Ibaka IMO.

Scola and Lee are questionable, I would give them the edge over Sap. Brand is definitely worse than Sap, and Ibaka is a completely different player. I think OKC would start Sap because he would compliment Perkins better than Ibaka does.

Doesnt matter what team he WOULD start for, he WONT start for us, and shouldnt.

Its about trade value, whos gonna trade us one of their starters if they are going to bring Millsap off the bench.

I think the Suns trade that almost went down is about the highest value we would see since he would fit a need for the Suns and would for sure start, I believe the trade was Millsap for Lopez and Pietrus.

Most of those would have Millsap starting over the current center. Amare would be center. Brand would be center. Aldridge would be center. Horford has been starting at center ever since they stopped the Jason Collins experiment. Millsap would start over Scola. He'd start over Ibaka, especially with Perkins there. I think Miami would consider a Bosh at center starting lineup.

Lee I give you. Nelson isn't there anymore and I forgot about him.

I think your seriously overrating Millsap or underrating some of these other players. Smith would start over Millsap for Atlanta, Scola is just as good as Millsap and so is Bass. Most of the teams you have moving their PF to C all of the sudden become extremely short. Like Portland,Atlanta,Miami and Philly. Miami is already short But Millsap on that starting lineup is extremely superfluous. His offense is not needed and his defense leaves a lot to be desired for them.
