I am excited for the future when we play defense and get defensive rebounds and stop 2nd chance points.

The excitement blocks logic.

We wouldnt be in such a close game if they didnt allow 2nd chance points. They scored on almost all of those 2nd chance shots.
Those offensive rebounds didnt happen with Favors and Kanter

Al shouldn't be closing games. Favors or Kanter (whoever is playing better) should be in there, and we should be running it through Millsap.

those were all to Harris when he hit fire. Not exactly threading-the-needle kinds of assists. Low impact assists is a fine way of saying it.

kool, braugh.

So assist only count if they are crazy insane passes? Big Al's strength is sucking the D in, be happy that he can capitalize by making "low impact assist".

Whose logic?

The Jazz starters, featuring Millsap and Jefferson, outscored the Thunder when they were on the court. The Jazz bench, featuring Kanter and Favors, were outscored by the Thunder when they were on the court.

And the Thunder scored on less than 50% of their offensive rebounds.

meh.

We just beat the top team in the west, outrebounded them, and everyone was crashing the boards so that many players had 5 or more boards....and WE WONT THE GAME

and someone is still bitching.

there's no ****ing denying that some assists have more impact than others. I know this, the NBA knows this, the folks at Sloan Analytics know this....https://search.espn.go.com/sloan-analytics/

the VERY FIRST PASS a low post player needs to make with ease is the pass out of a double team. Jefferson did it. I'll give a lot of credit for those points to Harris, who was shooting from 23 feet.

As always, continue sitting there finding a place to state what seem like "facts" to the numb-brained.

Nah, you are just an idiot.

An assist is an assist. Pass to an open guy, he makes the shot, assist.

There is no one absolute or blanket statement/substitution I want. Last night I was fine with Al coming back in and even more so because it was later in the game around 4:30min left in the game, so that in itself is an adjustment. The Jazz struggling to make shots and Al would help alleviate some of the pressure off of Millsap and the other players, plus with less time in the game hopefully he'd have more energy to finish the game.

I also was yelling at my TV for a couple of the offensive rebounds but some of those other offensive rebounds were long bounces off the rim and not much the PF/C can do about those.

Some games I would probably like to see Favors in for either Al or Paul but last night wasn't one of them, Favors played well but wasn't beasting and Al & Paul also weren't playing poorly both playing well as GVC pointed out.

Where do you get this data? (not judging just asking) We see this behavior (AJ, PM on O and EK, DF on D) but i don't know how to measure it. Is it just +/- ? I haven't bought into that stat...

Also, does Big Al play legitimate D in the last 4 mins of game? I've never taken notice. The reason i ask is that it is very hard to be a full on offensive player and also a full on defensive player and be able to still have enough energy at end of game to be the "one who has to hit the shot." (Yes, there are players who can do this, but they have names like MJ, Kobe.)
