Mitchell is a Better PG Prospect than Exum

If Burks is playing with Jazz he will be ahead of Mitchell on the playing charts. No way he moves to the end of the bench.Jazz wouldn't keep him to be a cheerleader at the end of the bench. He plays or he's gone.
I think Rubio/Exum and Hood/Burks with Mitchell getting minutes behind them man til at least midseason.

Going to be a DWill situation where Mitchell just forces his way into the starting lineup. I hope Alec plays well. Jazz need to trade him in order to pay Exum and Hood. Maybe Utah can actually get an asset instead of having to give one to dump his salary.

Exum's vision is something else. I believe he will finally show it this year.

1 - way too early to tell on both players
2 - who gives a ****. They're both potentially awesome pieces moving forward that make me still excited for the season despite ****ward

Mitchell can easily be seen as a better prospect than Exum right now, at least until Dante shows he can take a step forward in his game. However I wouldn't say he's a better *PG* prospect. He never had the PG role in Louisville, despite sharing the court with a not so talented guy like Quentin Snider, and he hasn't shown much in terms of running a team. It's one thing to be able to execute and a pick and roll here and there, or to go downhill and find a 3-pt shooter on a drive and kick a couple of times a game, but it's a whole different matter when you have to read the defense, position your teammates and direct the offense, be consistent with your choices or even excel at simple things like knowing when (and how) to make an entry pass or pass the ball around the perimeter to move the defense. Exum is not perfect in all of those things yet, but he's much more suited for that role than DM, who's really a small SG (in height, not length or heart) first and foremost.

I dont think you start DM to start the season.

Let Exum and DM be one hell of a combo coming off the bench. They will be more effective against the other teams subs, and will help them build confidence/chemistry.

I really wish Bolomboy didnt have a bad SL. I was hoping for him to show out, and get most of the back up mins to Favors with the possibility of him taking over next season.
That looks highly in doubt. This soft rebuild will need to add a 3 and 4 with us most likely losing JJ, and Favors next year. I'm not giving up on Joel, but he looks like a longer term project. Hopefully it was just an off time for him, and he'll look a lot better in pre-season.

I would agree, I don't think either Exum or Mitchell starts next season. Which is fine by me. Rubio has always floated around 30mpg for his career, and I imagine Rodney will be about the same. Plus, both guys seem to miss 10-15 games a season with minor injuries.

If Rodney gets 12-18 minutes of his time at the 3, I see no reason why Mitchell and Exum couldn't both get 24-28 minutes a night next year:

PG - Rubio (30), Exum (18)
SG - Rodney (16), Mitchell (24), Exum (8)
SF - Ingles (30), Hood (14), Johnson/FA (4)
