Mitchell needs to start

Both these players are on similar levels right now, with each one having different strengths.

Yep. I can't believe how many fans have dismissed Exum as if he were a scrub, but overlook all the warts on Mitchell to crown him a superstar already. Both these players are on similar levels right now, with each one having different strengths.

Not really what I said... just think they could play well together.

People are jumping the gun big time with this Udoh outplaying Gobert narrative. Rudy has had to adjust his game in a way that players never know if he's going to go for a block or not. He's also had to adjust to the way the refs are calling fouls more than any other player. Udoh can go just after everything, but he doesn't and never will affect complete defenses in the way Rudy does.

Having said that, I'd have no problem giving him more minutes on nights when he's out there ****ing people up. Getting Rudy more rest would be a good thing, but let's not get carried away with this Udoh > Gobert stuff.
I have not heard anyone saying Udoh is better than Gobert.

Gobert does need to get back to playing hard and doing the little things he is not. Snyder called him out last game for not blocking out on rebounds. His defense is fine right now and he is getting better on offense.

Mostly he needs to get better at passing on offense since he is getting three players crashing on him in pick and roll situations. Our team also needs to hit those threes when he makes the right pass.

Rudy was great last game. He's looked back to normal. He'd be scoring 20 a game if we had more players on the perimeter that scared teams. He's getting so much attention in his rolls.

I think he looked much better in many ways. He has improved since last season in a few ways but I still think his effort is low. That is why Snyder called him out and said that every offensive rebound we gave up was because Rudy wasnt putting a body on his guy. Snyder did say that Gobert was proud of some of his passes and is working hard on those. Snyder said his jump shot is nice but not really that big of a priority for Gobert improving on offense. He raved about how much Gobert helped spread the floor and that his continual improvement on passing will help the most.

Interesting side note Snyder talked about how he runs our offense like you run a defense. Where everyone is helping out and it takes a team effort. He said the downside to it is everyone has to run their part perfect. If one person messes up it ruins the offense. He used examples of Gobert getting pushed out to the 3 point line to get the ball, Ingles not cutting hard enough to get the ball. All of those things throw off our offense a lot and hurt our efficiency. That is why he said the offense will take time to really get going. The whole team needs to know the system well and do all the little things like block out, screen hard, cut hard and so on. Its very promising to hear him talk about the direction of the team. Sefolosha talked today about still learning the system and continuing to improve as he plays in a system that fits him. I think all of our guys especially the new ones are going to learn the system better and run it better. I also think all the new guys have really bought into the system and Snyder which is really important.

Mitchell obviously has much more potential as a scorer, but as far as where their careers are at right now, they are in a similar place, had they both been healthy. My point is that Exum has never had the opportunity to **** up over and over and over like DM has to start the season, without worrying about being yanked. His career has not yet had a chance to take off like the opportunity he would have had this year.

Lots of dumbasses like MVP have judged Dante's rookie year the same as they would DM's rookie year. In reality, when you include last year coming back from an injury and having a leash a foot long, Dante is pretty close to the same point in developing as a kid coming off a year of college.

Anyway, dip **** MVP started really running his mouth once Dante got injured again, just like he did the first time. There's nothing dumber than some jackass who uses an injury as an excuse to say I told you so that he isn't very good. Archie is a rocket scientist compared to that chump.

It’s really difficult to assess Dante because of his injuries and other issues. But one area in which he does not even come close to comparing with Mitchell is confidence.

Hey there Exum fan boy. The fact that I do not see the same potential what you see does not make me ******* or douche. We can have different opinions on players and I had my very strong opinion way before the draft when I first saw Exums videos. It did not change because of the rookie year, last year, summer league or his injuries... in fact if you go back to 2014 posts you can find that I predicted that he will be most likely injury prone and will miss a lot of games just because of the way he moved. Twin Towers actually said the same. But wait, you were not even here in 2014... obviously joined just because of Exum right?
So please stop making **** up, you are not very good at it. I could care less about Exum's injuries or his rookie year or last year. He is just not very good at playing basketball. And you posting that he is at the same level as Mitchell is really not helping your case.

Mitchell plays best at SG right now. I dont think putting him at PG helps the team. Ingles cant play PF and it would hurt his game. He would go from being a good defender to a bad defender.

Mitchell might become a good PG but thats not his position now and maybe not in the future either.

If he plays well enough to start I would put Ingles on the bench and move Hood to SF. But right now we dont need that. Just make sure he gets his minutes and let him keep playing against guys he can dominate for awhile. He is still young.

No way you put Ingles on the bench. Hood is the odd man out. He scored 17 points last game but overall his play wasn't very good. He missed a number of easy shots in the second half that cut into the Jazz's momentum and prevented them from getting back into the game. As I've said, the rest of his game is suspect. Joe does so many things out there and the team plays much better with him on the floor. It's only when Rodney gets hot from the outside that he contributes.

Now, about Mitchell. I agree with Log's post 100%.

What a hypocrite you are, Archie. You've been insulting me with dislikes and rep deductions, yes in the plural, because I have disagreed with your takes on Mitchell, takes that the majority of the board agrees with. What's your problem with Mitchell? I think it's just that you're a poor judge of basketball talent and refuse to accept that you have been wrong about him.

Gawd, not even close.
In Dante's rookie year, he STARTED 41 games. He was healthy. He had plenty of chances to **** up over and over again. He couldn't shoot, didn't penetrate and shied away from any situation where he might incur contact. His signature move was dribbling into the paint and out the other side. And then passing off behind the arc at the first possible chance he got.

Now I do get it. Dante is only 1 year older and has had a couple of injuries. But he also has had a COMPLETE year of being on an NBA team, and then another year of "recovery" time with the Jazz. And he had shown only a little progression in that time. And not much over that span in terms of his shooting. Exum has played over 3,000 NBA minutes. Mitchell has played 225. Not saying Dante can't or won't become a good player. But Mitchell is FAR superior. Personally, I hope Exum can be re-signed at a reasonable price. I think he might be a pretty good backup combo guard. But it wouldn't surprise me to see the Jazz cut ties if they need his cap space to sign a starting SF or PF.

DM should exceed Exum's career total in points sometime around January. ;)

I mean it's obvious that DM has the potential to be great. But it's mostly potential at this point. There are more than one way way to skin a cat. You say he NEEDS to start to reach it. Other's say he doesn't. Why?

Face palm.
