I think that means that Portland doesn't want Watson as their only PG backup. McCollum has shown in the Summerleague that passing is not an option for him, so they want him to play backup SG for Wes...

Who better to disrupt a young promising back court than Mo and Earl? Lillard and CJ will be 'getting theirs' every night with hero shots and ball domination. In 3 years Lilliard will ask for the max and leave. In 4 years McCollum will announce he is the starting pg and then leave.

Apparently NBA vet minimum was not appealing to him. Memphis was seriously talking to him as well, but only wanted to give the minimum as well.

Very similar to AK going from about 10 down to 3 million. How will they feed their families?

Blazers must not be sold on the PG abilities of McCollum.

I'll bet Mo opts out next season. There has to be a better deal for him somewhere.
