What's new

Mock Draft 3.0 (Full Draft)

The flipside is you have 2 more years of cheap Lauri and 3 more years of cheap Kessler. You burn one of those in a year with a draft that is really meh in 2024 (at least right now) and hope Amen develops... what if he has an injury or just sucks... for dudes with a higher development curve injuries are really catastrophic.

He may end up being awesome from day 1 though... and any dude can get hurt. I just don't think I'd be planning to tank next year. For us Amen makes more sense than for a lot of teams. Its a bit of a coin flip for me between him and Cam... I am likely more conservative than most on here.
I dont want to ****ing tank next year.

It makes too much sense not to though.

The Jazz simply don't have enough talent as constructed. Even if Sexton, Ochai, and THT reach relatively good outcomes they are still lacking for talent. Need a year where we give our draft picks a lot of room to grow just like this past season and get another top 10 pick

That’s the underrated side of tanking is your prospects get to develop under having more responsibility than they would if you were trying to win. To tank two years seems like a long term thing, but it’s really not. The longer you tank the longer your window becomes. Its two years for the next ten

It would be soooooo dumb not to go full tank this year and then do it next year… like next level dumbassery… you missed your tank window.

I would be down but like HH said, Lauri is cheap right now and his contract aint hella long and Kessler is cheap. Plus as far as not having enough talent as constructed well we do have hella cap space and hella trade assets. Talent can very quickly be enough without tanking if hardy makes good trades and signs good players. No need to tank to get more talent in that case. Plus I like getting talent that has already panned out (players in free agency and trade that we have a good sample size of nba games to look at) over getting talent that may end up being a bust (draft picks)

The guys that we had this year... who are all young and likely have not hit their ceiling were too good to allow us to tank when the roster was filled out with guys picked up off the scrap heap. We have infinity cap space... we will bring in two high level rookies at least... we have an awesome coach... yeah we definitely winning 25 games next year.

Its not dumber than the idea of tanking next year lol.
The Jazz must compete next year or the team is ruined!

Jazz need to deploy the same strategy they used this year for next season. It's the clearly the most intelligent move and you are just being a weirdo because you think the only way to benefit off tanking is getting at top 5 pick.
