Two years ago, DL did a good job of signing Ekpe, Thabo and Jonas. Those type of players are out there and needn't break the bank. It might be premature to go prospecting depending on how the summer league looks.

With all due respect, I thought those signings were a terrible use of funds. Combined, they made around $13 million yet never played very meaningful minutes for us. If most of that money was spent on one developmental or substantial player, it would have been money better spent. Udoh and Thabo were great for the lockerroom, but the money could have been used elsewhere.

I remember when Jonas went nuts in Boston and Ekpe stepped up when both Favors and Gobert were hurt. Thabo was a journeyman. Those guys gave us hope after Hayward crapped on us.

They had some moments, and I don't want to live in the past anyway. What they provided off the court was very valuable for a team reeling from Hayward's decision indecision decision.

For this summer, I would hate to use that type of money on guys who aren't going to be meaningful players on a nightly basis.

We have to keep pace with the lakers. nba is setting them up so LEbron can go out on top. Refs will kiss that laker booty these next seasons.

Tbh - I would’ve traded for DeMarre Carroll and had him help replace Hayward. Jazz had more than enough cap space to make the trade and would’ve picked up two draft assets in the process. Depth is important, but you should always focus on his who can contribute in the playoffs first.

And proud of it. Guy used to do Junior Jazz stuff and was amazing with the kids. Loved his attitude and his personality long before his game developed. Been hoping he’d find his way back to Utah at some point. Sucks to see him end up in San Antonio.

Oh well. . . at least it wasn’t the Lakers or Thunder. Spurs seem like a good fit for him. Think he’ll be a value pickup for them.

This thread, like so many others didnt age well with all the craziness yesterday.

Andy Larsen indicated Thabo and Jazz are probably done.

Jerebko would be interesting because of his corner three ability, but I think Jonas and Jazz are probably done.
