I think EVERYTHING in the NBA since should have an ASTERISK.

Do it NOW, David Stern.

Honestly.
Forget the push-off. Eisley's 3 was 20 feet in the air when the 24 second buzzer sounded, and Dickhead Bavetta waived it off, Ron Harper's 2 pt basket later in the game was clearly NOT out of his hands when the 24 second buzzer went off. Hot Rod talked about that in his book ...sure, they didnt happen late in the game but in a game decided by 1 point, you cannot discount those 5 points that went the Bulls way.

BRIAN RUSSEL

that should end it right there, LOL!!!!

and I am officially in mourning for the "twirling woman" May Twirly Girl twirl in peace....

perhaps on the third day.....resurrection? We can hope.

(maybe you can post the URL in your sig like a certain poster who shall remain nameless at the moment has done with his iconic animated gif avatar who now has just a still picture from it as his new avatar)

Derek Fisher's impact on the games Utah plays against LA is minimal, at best. Some of you need to come to grips with the fact that the Lakers are BETTER than Utah. This is why the board is filled with ludicrous trade ideas and debates over which big man the Jazz should draft. Because the Jazz need to get BETTER to compete with LA.

There are a dozen reasons why Utah has lost to LA in 3-straight playoff series and Derek Fisher doesn't even come close to being one of them. I'm not defending the man, because the evidence exists that he manipulated the Jazz organization, but it just DOESN'T MATTER. AT ALL. You people need to let it go. Seriously, it's sad.

Seriously, complaining that Utah lost because LA has Derek Fisher is akin to if LA fans lost to Golden State and complained it was because GS had Ronny Turiaf.

I didn't say Fisher was the key difference between the Jazz beating the Lakers or not. There are many other more important and obvious ones. The Lakers are better team, clearly. But the fact that Fisher is helping them beat the Jazz in any way whatsoever is what keeps this story alive. It doesn't help that Fisher seems to play well against the Jazz a lot of the time. If the Jazz weren't having so much trouble beating the Lakers I could guarantee this would be a non-story. It's going to be hard for people to get over it when his team is consistently beating the Jazz. It's a reminder that hits people over and over and over...that was my point. As for me...I agree with you, it is time to let it go regardless of how suspicious it was. What's done is done, Fisher will have to live with his choices. If he was dishonest that is a problem for his conscience.

There is no doubt in my mind Fisher wanted back on the Lakers, and used his daughters situation to help him.
He'll never admit it, but we know the truth. Now it's time to move on.

I loved the "Fisher Lied" chicks. I think Fisher could be a PR man or politician. That being said, the guy sucks and the Jazz would have had bigger money problems if we hadn't released him. I'm glad he's gone, I hope his daugther does well and I hope he goes 1 for 50 in the Finals and that Rondo lights him up for 25 and 10 every game.

Fisher really has done a superb job of marketing himself as some sort of Basketball Gandhi.

Anyone going to read his book? :p

Nope. It's the type of book thats best purpose is as a doorstop, OR, if one of the legs on a table is wobbly, to use it to balance it out, OR, if you run out of toilet paper, use the pages. It's not meant to be read.

Larry Miller didn't have release him from his contract; however, I'm pretty sure that when presented with the opportunity to get out from under Fisher's deal at zero cost, Miller was more than happy to do so. The Jazz won in the situation as well. It was a win for everyone. Fisher, the Jazz, us Fisher haters, etc. The Lakers sucked when Fisher went back. Then Memphis really ****ed everyone.

Can you imagine the crap storm Miller would have faced if it got out that he refused to let Fisher go to take care of his kid? Fisher put Miller in a no win situation.

What a pity -- I opened this thread with the hopes that there would be a picture of Fisher on fire. Shame, really.

I was excited when we got Derek Fisher, I loved him as a player and a champion. Yeah, his terms of leaving left something to be desired. But if we were in that situation where we had to give up millions of dollars (and he did, think about it he left a lot of money on the table) to go find a better situation for his family. We would all do that. We would have to.

Of course he's going to have ties to the Lakers. He won a buttload of championships there. Of course he's going to talk to Kobe, they have been friends since they entered the NBA together. Do you think Ronnie Brewer and D-Will still talk.. Of course they do. The NBA environment now-a-days lends to a very friendly personal relationships. Everyone in the NBA is friends/or has their phone number and text/call them all the time. It's just part of our society now.

Now though, Fisher is sometimes a liability for the Lakers. You just don't see it as much because of how much talent they do have on the floor most nights. Without Odom/Gasol they turn into a team that looks highly beatable. It's their length that gives teams the most problems. How can you defend when they put 3 guys in the Front court that are highly athletic centers?

Please stop Jazz fans, we don't need to rehash Fisher. Yeah, he torches our team. But so does the T-Wolves.

He didn't leave any money on the table. I don't see the Lakers not paying him a hefty sum. I don't care about Fisher, he was pitiful aside from a couple of games. I just hate having to play against him. He is the biggest flopper and BS shot artist in the game against us.
