Jazz literally scored where and when they wanted. There didn't appear to be any pressure or resistance when they were on offense. Thunder did not make them uncomfortable at all. You gotta play defense and make the opponent feel like they are suffocating. Damn that was some crazy *** 4th quarter. Jazz just did what they wanted and then to top it off Thunder coughed up the ball on the other end so easily

Why is Russ taking terrible shots? Because he can't get to the rim. Why can't he? Because of an opposition player. So what has Billy done to alleviate this? What kind of adjustments has Billy made? Why can Utah get any shot they want, while we stall the clock for 10 seconds before chucking up a contested iso brick? Adams was a problem for them in game 1, so Snyder made sure they attacked to get him in foul trouble. That's an example of a super obvious adjustment. And this isn't even getting into the stupid "experimental" lineups...I thought Billy had some grand plans up his sleeve? Right?
Quin Synder after game 1 loss: They're getting too many good looks so we're get more physical with them, stay at home and play a zone-ish scheme to make it hard for them, Mitchell is gonna come down and help on the boards and we're gonna attack downhill offensively and swing the ball around.

Jesus Christ, that was awful. We gave Utah absolutely everything they wanted. They dictated to us on both ends of the floor, we were constantly on the back foot defensively, couldn't get anything going offensively, played right into their hands. Just completely dad dicked us and we eagerly took it.

I’m usually one to preach positivity, but after watching this game, I don’t see us winning another game. Just no heart. Poor coaching. Poor decisions by our key players. I think the Big 3 experiment is a failure. I can only be optimistic for so long before it just feels like denial. Here’s to hoping Presti can work some magic this offseason.
If we don’t learn to control the paint this series is over. We’ve never been very efficient but we got boards and played the paint well. We are getting absolutely demolished in the paint and it’s the reason for our struggles. They need to figure it out or this series is over in 5
Every one of our starters in the - and Russ with -25. Idk if Russ just felt defeated at a certain point or what, but this isn't the player that I'm use to seeing. Maybe something behind the scenes is going on that affected his on court performance? Idk, I'm trying to make myself feel better about it all.
The difference between us and Utah is that they are scheming everything to the t against tendencies. They don't ever press up on Russ or try to trap, they either give him the middle of the floor and stay home or put Gobert in front of him on a switch. They're playing Russ perfectly and he just doesn't know what to do. It's not a want thing, the only thing he can do is keep the ball moving like in Game 2 but then our role players have to make shots. It's demoralizing when you're game-planned out of the series and you can't do anything about it. In game 1 PG went off but now they'd gone with "stay under PG at all times, just stay tight and force him to use his dribble". The Jazz actually adapt to whatever we do and Donovan can't figure out an effective counter. If the role players and Melo start to make shots the floor will open up, but until they do their entire gameplan is to keep Russ from playing his usual game.

I can't conceivably come up with any adjustments that we are going to make before the next game, so we should expect a similar result

Here is how I judge our offense versus all the other playoff teams I've been watching this weekend.
The jazz on defense don't have to move. The man with the ball is watched by all 5 players in defense, and when we shoot there is no thunder player usually within 10 foot of the rim for a board.
Every successful team, pelicans or warriors or whoever, they make the defense move.
Our individuals are good, I just think we are too iso minded to compete against these teams. They play as a unit, we just try and overpower you with individual brilliance.
Gobert could punch Adams straight in the face and the refs would look away
Adams got away with the most obvious hold in the world lmao Mitchell jumped forward and actually flew backwards mid air lmao

If the role players and Melo start to make shots the floor will open up, but until they do their entire gameplan is to keep Russ from playing his usual game.

Here is how I judge our offense versus all the other playoff teams I've been watching this weekend.
The jazz on defense don't have to move. The man with the ball is watched by all 5 players in defense, and when we shoot there is no thunder player usually within 10 foot of the rim for a board.
Every successful team, pelicans or warriors or whoever, they make the defense move.
Our individuals are good, I just think we are too iso minded to compete against these teams. They play as a unit, we just try and overpower you with individual brilliance.

Man I would have loved to see this Thunder team against the Rockets in the 2nd round.. I think they would have a legitimate shot of beating the Rockets
The Thunder team match up much better with the rockets where their style of play can counteract what the Rockets are doing..
but with the Jazz their style of play only benefits what the Jazz are doing because they like slowing down the pace and when it becomes a defensive battle that only favors the Jazz as well
This Donovan Mitchell kid is special.. he is a Hall of Famer in the making.. going to be leading this Jazz team for years to come
you can see he has the killer instinct and he shows up in the 4th quarter… at this age Westbrook was never this good

Deserved to win and credit to their defense that limited OKC’s shot selection and the efficiency of their offense in getting good shots for team mates who can ….. pass and shoot.
Really exposed OKC’s defensive and offensive schemes and how narrow Billy’s vision is, as the coach.
