More Tomic

Hey Archie,

Why don't you read the article and decide for yourself.

I guess I can keep it simple for you and summarize it for your lazy butt.

1. He is 23 years old already.

2. He signed a 3 year deal that would be very costly to buy out.

3. According to Travis Hansen he will be looking at making a lot of money in Europe after that deal.

4. The Jazz are in Luxury Tax Land and aren't going to break the bank further for a European dude that may or may not work out in the NBA.

5. You like him so he must suck.

With that being said, much better post, other than calling me a lazy butt. Just cause I'm fat doesn't mean I'm lazy.

Ginobili was 25 when he played his first game with the spurs.
Fabricio Oberto was 30
Luis Scola was 27

AK didn't play till 2 years after being drafted.

I say very good chance he plays for the Jazz... at least better then Peter Fehnse

I'm not worried about bringing over Tomic now. Let him grow and develop over there.
So what he's 23? lol. Wow he's so old!
Let him come here when he is 25 or 26 and in his prime.
I'm fine with that.

Wait until his current deal is done, if he continued to improve aggressively try to get him here.

How much will it cost to bring Tomic over next season? Here's a report on a player the Wolves have signed. He was a 2nd-rounder in 2008

The Minnesota Timberwolves reached a verbal agreement on a three-year, $13 million contract with their 2008 second-round pick Nikola Pekovic, two league sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford. Pekovic is a big, 6-foot-11 bruising center who has had an impressive career playing in Greece the past two seasons. Pekovic averaged 14.8 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game in 23 minutes per game for Panathinikos in Euroleague play last season. One league source said that had Pekovic been in this year's draft he would have been a top-10 pick. "He's one of the most dominant big men in Europe right now and I think he can have an immediate impact in the NBA," said the source

If he refuses to come over, then we can safely assume that he knows he can't compete over here. As for the money issue...please... the highest paid euro is an American - Childress last time I checked. He makes a whopping 4.5 million euros (5.5 million US) a year

I wish we could get him on the roster for this coming season. If we can somehow get him after next year though that would still be a major plus for us, supposedly he's the next coming of Pau Gasol.

Great insight and predictions, Bob. Please, feel free to offer your two cents on why he will never play for the Jazz.

Signed,

All of us

Actually, I agree.

I prefer people to actually say more than these one-liners that one would think are used to pad their post count or something.

Signed,
One of us ;)

I've read this as well. Although, if he's as skinny as they say then he'll need some lessons from AK on how to keep your distance while still being able to block their shot.

That reminds me of AK's rookie year when he launched himself over Malone to block Shaq's inside shot. :D

(not the shot but found this great AK mix. We desperately need this version of AK back!)
