His drive is based on his ego, so I don't know why his staying power would surprise you.

Donald, you really know hot to get the media to talk about you.
Donald, you really know how to energize your base...with hate speech.
Donald, you really know hot to hold large campaign events...in which you have people beaten regularly.
Donald, you really know how to bed women.
Donald, you really know how to accumulate wealth...by declaring bankruptcy.

Maybe something about his ability to build a brand or work hard would work. I personally would have a difficult time keeping a straight face on these as well because something would pop into my mind having to do with these.

You really know how to build a brand...by being a douchebag.
You work very hard, because you are defined by your ego and therefore have to put your name on everything, including your child.

Point is, I am not Clinton or an actor, and these would be hard for me.

So all of the politicians who we've seen taken down by scandals (this has happened many, many times) were simply lacking a large enough ego? IMO there's a lot more to it than that, but even if there's not his ability to survive is amazing.

Once again, it's a cult of personality, and he's a demagogue. Byzantine emperors used to appear with smoke, shoot up from trap doors, and ruddy up their faces. Spectacle and awe has always been the calling card of these kind of rulers. It creates the strongest type of adherence of any ruling tactic. Couple this with fear, either through threats or fear-mongering, and you have the recipe for adherents who are not only ready to die for you, but kill. Trump has this talent for sure, but I don't think, "Donald, you can manipulate the masses through your adroit use of time-tested demagoguery tactics," is a great compliment. He is very good at it, and perhaps he learned this from his reading of Hitler's speeches and his entertainment career. He knows what gets ratings. Not a stretch at all to assume he will pivot into a TV network if he loses.

This was my favourite. Cooper exposed himself an CNN as liberal med shills. When Mr. Trump trounced Hillary Cooper tried to squash the reaction an changes subjects.

How can anyone take your complaints about Trump serious if you dont hold Hillary to the same standard?
