My mom and I went a mosque together just this past Friday. Awesome thinking that we might not be safe even when we're praying!

it'll continue to do so, since reporters have just figured out that the "Muslim shooter" was actually just a witness, and the arrested suspect is some insane far-right french dude.

Not sure what you are seeing but to me it is a top Google News item with stories from Fox, Business Insider, Reuters, Dallas News, CNN...
 
A 27-year-old man was held on Monday in connection with a shooting in a mosque in Quebec City that killed six men and wounded eight others, officials said.
The attack stunned Canada, where mass shootings are uncommon, and was condemned by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as a “terrorist attack on Muslims.”

...The man, Alexandre Bissonnette, had a history of provocative views and antisocial behavior, according to a report in the Quebec newspaper La Presse. The newspaper quoted François Deschamps, an official with a refugee advocacy organization, as saying that Mr. Bissonette had make harassing comments against members of an online chat room.
