Munich Attacks

Ye right because the other guys pants are bulletproof ;)

They're btw all wearing vests under their neon shirts.
If you ask me they're either BFE+ or SEK officers who just happened to arrive first and had to improvise/were mainly there to evacuate the civilians in the mall.

Are they pointing their guns at civilians? They all have semi-automatic rifles and balaclavas, I doubt they just had those on them. It does look like they had to improvise. Which is kinda the same thing as saying they don't look prepared, or that maybe they need some training for this kinda situation.

Or maybe they are exactly well trained for this situation where they can react the fastest and are confident without running around layered like an medieval knight.
If you look at the situation on the picture and the fact that a journalist captured it, they could have just grouped/regrouped/talked through the next steps - probably in safe distance when you factor in the camera...
If you're undercover/without uniform in a civilian car and clothes at work for various reasons, you still have a bulletproof vest and those neon vests in your trunk that help you identify yourself as a cop to everyone else if necessary.
Half of them wear sneakers. But ask yourself: Do you want a cop to react in such a situation to first change the dress and shoes or do you want a cop who's 3 min faster where he can actually help, even if his equipment isn't the best for the situation(I'd still argue that missing knee protection and lack of proper boots are very rarely going to make a difference)

I'd prefer a faster response time if I needed help as a civilian I suppose.

30°C and higher.
Maybe it were just the first to respond to the emergency and were doing investigations without uniform nearby.

Apparently the shooter was a 18 yr old German of Iranian descent. Whatever that means.

Your source?? Every source I've seen says the shooters were anti-immigrant

Haven't followed anything today but on the press conference last night that's what the police released.

Contradicting eyewitness accounts...

'He's ... killing the children'
A witness who was in the restaurant said her son was in the bathroom with the gunman.
"That's where he loaded his weapon," said Lauretta, who only wanted to be identified by her first name.
She said she saw many children casualties.
"I hear like an alarm and boom, boom, boom ... and he's still killing the children. The children were sitting to eat. They can't run."
Lauretta said she heard the gunman say, "Allahu Akbar," or "God is great" in Arabic.
"I know this because I'm Muslim. I hear this and I only cry," she said.

'You will get it.'
Witness Huseyin Bayri said he was riding his bike outside the restaurant when he saw the attacker yelling.
"I heard a scream at first: 'You ****ty ... foreigners. I am German. You will get it,'" Bayri said.
"And then the first shots were fired. And a boy of about 14 or 17 years of age ... collapsed, fell to the floor."
Bayri jumped off his bike, crawled toward the wounded teenager and hid next to him. He tried to reassure him as he pressed on his gunshot wounds to stop the bleeding.
"The boy asked for my help. I tried to talk with him, asked him his name, his age, if he has a girlfriend," Bayri said. "I tried to make sure that he looked at me, that his eyes are open."
The teen pleaded with Bayri to call an ambulance, but died just before it got there.

Shooter lived in Munich
While police did not identify the shooter, they said it was an 18-year-old German-Iranian who had lived in Munich for at least two years.
He was unknown to police and his motives are unclear, authorities said. No group has claimed responsibility.
"We have to investigate everything via third person as we cannot question the perpetrator now," Andrae said.

So... is he both a German Muslim, as well as anti-immigration?

Who knows? But a lot of German Iranians parents were prosecuted over there for religious reasons and fled preemptively.

But then shouldn't he be more understanding to migrants since he used to be one of them rather than be against them?

Read my post in the other thread about racism. I think you were active there. Migrants are very competitive against each other over here. Ppl think less foreigners means more support for them.

It's btw the same concept like with ppl who are beaten as kids are more likely to beat their kids.

Wow ok, that's pretty complex... but I kinda can see where you're coming from.

If that's the case, that means the situation there is getting pretty dire if it means migrants are having to fight off each other to get their entitlements....

Being Iranian pretty much rules out terrorism links. Sounds like another mass shooting freak.

I heard last night from a former ISIS guy that he didn't believe this was a terrorist group for three reasons: 1. Being from Iran is the wrong sect for ISIS; 2. He committed suicide, which is only acceptable if using your body as a weapon; and 3. That he is only 18.

The axe dude in Germany a week ago was 17 and apparently he was rapidly radicalized via IS contacts/content.

I think he was taking all three things together to form his conclusion. Exceptions to everything.

Most terrorists are very young.

An act of terrorism by definition is politically motivated. In terms of Muslim terrorists(IS, Al-Qaida, Taliban, Boko Haram etc) it's a blurry line as they act under the pretense that their one true religious interpretation means they deserve to be in charge politically.
The guy in Munich was not doing it in the name of any political organisation as far as the Police investigation concluded. The dude in Würzburg was a terrorist as his axe rampage in the local train was supported/instructed by IS.
