To start, I consider myself a hobbyist and not a musician. I play acoustic guitar and sing. I have some toys to help a la Fisher and TC Helicon. I've been playing in open mics while out of state on business and at house parties as of lately. Are there open mics in the SLC Valley you guys know of? If so, let me know.
I know BabyPeterzz and Numberica are hell of muscians as well as dragon (or something like that.) So, basically, this thread is for everything from equipment, recording, tips, open mics, etc.

Some covers and some originals. Most of the covers I play, I tend to change them slightly to my own style.

I know there's still an Open Mic occasionally at The Royal in Murray. Not sure about others though. Most musicians looking for a decent undiscovered singer go to karaoke bars these days and see if someone blows them away.

The Royal also has a karaoke night too.

I used to play bass in heavy metal band 25-20 years ago. 2 years ago decided that I want to have one at home and bought myself a regular 4 string bass. It has been fun to play some covers at home but eventually you start missing that raw rehearsal sound and playing with bandmates. To bad life lately has been so busy that I only touch it 1-2 times a week.

Thanks, man. It's a fun hobby. I still play out probably an average of 1-2 times a month. I'm probably too old, but the girls keep on dancing and I keep on having fun, so...there you go.
