The case of those three countries was not America policing the world. It was a world war that included China, Russia, all of Europe, Asia... vastly different than America and a few others toppling a gov.
I'm not for withdrawing from the world, but we are not its masters either.
I could point out that Korea is flawed as it's a split country into two countries. Also Iraq, Syria, Vietnam and Libya as failed attempts.
Again, emphatically, no thank you. If replies are more of the same I'll move on.
We can fix North Korea with covert black ops taking out the regime and securing the red button before storming the walls so to speak. Are military already knows this is a single day mission that will liberate millions in poverty. How can you say we should not use are clout to perform this liberating humanitarian action?

One final point how can anyone claim Vietnam was a failure? How quickly we forget history and how the communist did and continue to threaten the world. We also learned a lot about both war and politics from that war. You are speaking in such short term thinking saying it was outright failure. We learned a lot.
We would have won the war had President Johnson not painted himself into a political corner with General Westmoreland continuing his headstrong insurgence strategy. When Nixon and General Abrams came to prominence the war was quickly won.
That is a great learning experience and one we ultimately used to make Iraq a peaceful nation. Fire the general that does not know its enemy.
The USA could have won Vietnam in less than 2 years instead Congress betrayed are efforts and those poor soldiers who lost there lives. We pulled out AFTER THE WAR WAS ALREADY WON by General Abrams and the Northern Commies killed another 500,000-2,500,000 innocents which was way way way more than we lost. In fact the "Vietnamized" strategy had South Vietnam in military control with are air support. USA would have spent little money or people resources to secure a democratic regime away from HIGHLY INDOCTRINATED COMMUNIST MILLITARY.
But hey who am I to go against you hippies who think freedom is free and USA sucks. Guess what you are the reason we lost that war.
