My GM plan

here is my plan

Trade Exum to the suns for Mikal Bridges and Dragen Bender (bender is a throw in to make salaries work that is all)

- Exum would actually be a good fit with a shooter like booker (Although he sucks shooting this year)
- Jazz get a young wing that could eventually play with Mitchell in the back court or push Ingles to the bench

Then trade Burks and Favors for Porter Jr and Oubre

- Washington's dumps a ton of salary by only using Oubre to get it done

Go into the offseason with $93 million at a $109 million cap (maybe a rookie draft pick) ***phoenix may require it

The Jazz could have potentially 14 to 15 million in cap space to offer I would offer it all to sign Malcolm Brogdon from the Bucks (buck would ahve a hard time matching that and keeping bledsoe)

Brogdon, Neto (second round pick or a vet min player like dellavedova)
Mitchell, O'Neale, Allen
Ingles. Bridges, Oubre
Porter, Crowder, Niang
Gobert, Danile Gafford (first round pick??????), Bradley

That would be my plan Putting 3 players that can shoot 40% from 3 pretty consistently with Gobert and Mitchell would open the floor like moses parting the red sea. Defense to come in off the bench but can still score

Maybe Igor likes Exum. But the Suns aren't going to let go of Bridges that easily. But Josh Jackson might be available. Though he cannot shoot.

Igor aint the GM. He could have the hardest of hard-ons for Exum and their GM isnt going to trade the guy they spent two first on for a underachieving player like Exum.

It's impossible.

At best you can do Exum for Bender and the 2019 2nd round pick.

They didn't draft Doncic and Igor was his coach when they won a championship. I doubt he likes Exum anyways.

Maybe straight up for Ariza once they completely give up hope... they might have already but he isn’t eligible until December anyway.

Is this a joke thread?

I prefer Dinwiddie to Brogdon. I think we need a guy that can create a little more than Malcolm. He's defense is better but not by a ton.

2 open roster spots... I think something is clearly up.

You only release Canaan if you have another move coming. Igor was just praising the kid recently.

I hope we are involved. I could see us having interest in Josh Jackson, Bridges, the Milwaukee pick. I could see the Suns having interest in Rubio. They need a PG badly.

You know what... it is likely just a money saver. They can wait and sign another guy... Sarver is a pinchiest of penny pinchers.

You should go read Andy's article from yesterday. We ain't doing **** until the trade deadline... nothing.

If that's true, that's complete and utter ********. I hate our front office and big of ******* they are.

If we wait, we'll end up doing nothing and thus, we'll have nothing but mediocrity.

Jazz would be pretty stupid to do a major move this early. Wait til everyone is available.

The timing of a deal doesn't matter much to me... just the deal. There may be stuff available now that isn't available later. Most GMs wait until the "trigger" date as DL indicated. It'd be dumb to push hard for a deal now, but if there was a decent deal out there why wait.

I just get the impression that DL isn't even to a point where he is thinking about a deal. Which is fine... he only has half his deck of cards available right now. I don't think other teams are going hard after deals right now either.

There is likely nothing out there right now. Just wonder if Clips would be in a hurry to get off of Gallo's deal because of injury potential or if the Wiz are anxious to resolve their internal issues. I'm guessing trade season doesn't open until 12/15 and won't get serious until 1/15. I am fine with waiting... not like our guys have enormous trade value with how they are playing. We need a fluky 5 game stint from Dante so we can trick someone into him being Penny 2.0.

I disagree. We could make a move now and still make another move.

We could easily do a trade of Burks, Thabo and Bradley for Ryan Anderson and a 1st round pick. We don't have to rely on any of those 3 guys. Then later, we could look at doing something with that pick and Favors, Ryan Anderson, Rubio, Exum, Udoh, whatever.

The only kind of deal that makes sense now is if someone is selling a useful veteran for super cheap, and no one is. You'd have to blow someone away with an offer for them to do a deal now.

And, why make a trade when everyone on the team is basically at rock bottom (barring injury) trade value?

I dont know if the Jazz are going to do the exact same thing they did last year, but the whole roster will look much better in January than they do now. Some people just got a trade fetish and no patience.

And if the Jazz are complete doo-doo until then, that will probably change their trade strategy. If they start to surge, that probably changes their strategy and boost the trade value of their roster.

Well, the Cavs are selling Korver, Hill and JR Smith. Washington is rumored to be open to trading anyone. Other than those teams, there isn't much chatter for veterans for sale at this time.

Last year, other than disgruntled Hood, we were never in trade mode. This year, I think it's blatantly obvious that Burks, Thabo, and Udoh could be had and we signed Favors and Neto to trade friendly deals as well. I think many of us assumed that this roster was poised for trade bait using the upcoming summer spending spree as an opportunity to trade expirings for assets.

Or at least you would hope they would use our assets that way.
