My Guess: Corbin is Re-signed

The word "fire" is to dismiss from a position. You can fire someone in the middle of a contract (in which you must meet the remaining contractual obligations) or at the end of a contract (by not offering a new contract). If you are involuntarily out of a job, you are fired.
Sorry, that is incorrect. I just fulfilled a work contract and was not retained. There is now an opening for that position. I was not 'fired," my contract was simply up and the company and I parted ways. If you have doubts about the distinction, contact a state EDD.

Funny how Ty will be good enough to coach us to beat the Lakers, which is exactly the opposite of what we want.

I'm good enough to coach the Jazz to win over the Lakers. "Guys, just run around and set screens for each other. Make sure Gordon tries to drive in so Kanter and Favors can clean up the boards when he misses. On defense, just try not to look too lost. Let them shoot 3's and hope they miss. Play HARD!"

Hes coming back. I guarantee it. Ive been saying it the whole time. Jason must be reading my posts.

Yet you have not accepted any of the bets proposed to you.

Actually me and JazzFan0124 bet 10 dollars. Both Hayward and Corbin have to be back for me to win though. He was too chicken to do just one.

Ill bet somebody that just Corbin will be back though.

You down?

I don't see how I was being chicken. You are supposed to bet on what you think will happen. Your post was "Both will be back, I guarantee it." so I took you up on it. If i was confident only one would be back, or which one, then I would have bet on that. Or if you only thought one would be back you would have said "One of them will be back, I guarantee it." You think both will be back, I don't, those are the parameters of the bet. If you did not like the parameters, you wouldn't have taken the bet.

That said, there is not a chance in hell both of them are back. So thank you for the $10

Why do I think this?

I believe the Jazz pride themselves on loyalty first and foremost. The Miller organization, since they've owned the team, haven't fired a coach... ever! As much as we love Jerry now, you can find posts on this forum that call for his firing plenty. I believe they will play the card that the team's long-term direction forced Corbin to have a less-than-ideal product to work with and that isn't his fault. They'll see slight improvements in some players and schemes that will validate their reasoning. I have no idea what those would be but I bet they find them.

I expect a two-year contract to be signed.

Just a hunch... I'm interested to see how it plays and, if it happens, the fan reaction.

I was wrong! THANK GOD!

feel bitter sweet that he is gone. wish we can attract a big name coach
Personally I couldn't care less about how big of a name the HC is. I just want a good coach that will develop this roster. There is some talent on this team. It has just been misused for 3 years now.
.
I feel like I did when McDouchebag was fired as coach of the Broncos. Relieved and happy.

What's to be bitter about? I'm elated! Damn, I dare say a lot of guys on this site could do no worse than Corbin. All you would need to do is sit Marvin and RJ, and give Gobert more minutes. Maybe, the record would not be better, though I'm not so sure because they would get better playing together, but at least they would be farther along in their development.

That's ok. We all had that fear because the Millers have been incredibly loyal. And Ty was given a watered-down roster. I could see a few justifications that may have brought him back. In the end, I think the major factor was Dennis Lindsey. I wonder if this will cause a rift with Sloan. Not a huge deal, but it was nice to see the old man back in some capacity. Maybe Sloan truly retires now that DL has let Corbin go.
