My pipe dream

We`re a lock to get a good pick in this year`s draft. Hopefully we will draft in one of the first two spots and will land an offensive game-changer. If we do this, I`m willing to let most pieces go to secure these five players for the future:

* Burke
* Klay Thompson
* Michael Kidd Gilchrist
* (2014 pick)
* Derrick Favors

Burke and Favors look like the most solid combination at the moment. With Klay Thompson, we get one of the elite shooters in the game. In MKG, we get another great defender and rebounder. If the 2014 pick lands us Jabari Parker or someone similar, we have our #1 option. Burke and Thompson will be #2 and #3, and Favors will also hopefully be able to contribute more offensively than a player like Bogut.

Two questions arise:

1: Is this line-up enough of a foundation to get us where we want?
2: Do we have the assets to get Klay and MKG?

If we get the right players on the bench, I think the answer to question one is yes. Regarding #2, I guess it depends on how the Warriors do this season. If they dissappoint and see that they need to get a better bench to be able to compete, we might be able to pry Klay away if we also take Lee and give them something like Kanter, Burks, Marvin and their pick back. Most GS-fans seem to think that they will not be able to retain both Klay and Barnes. By taking Lee and giving them another good young player, they get to keep both Barnes and the players we trade them. The exception is obviously if Kanter blows up and commands a huge pay-day. Is he does it is really only a win for them anyway as they would have a lethal two way front court of Kanter and Bogut.

Replace Burks with Hayward in the above deal and I think they say yes, but Hayward is better to use in a deal to get MKG from the Bobcats. They seem to want to get better now and need another offensive option. We are building a team and with our pick this year hopefully giving us our alpha dog, Hayward can leave for the right piece coming back.

1: NO
2: I don't want MKG and Klay Looks awesome playing next to curry but would be guarded much closer elsewhere.
3: Your lineup leaves us picking a four. It limits us to Gordon(maybe he's big enough) and Randle(Maybe he's explosive enough)
4: Even if you move Favors to the 4 and get Embiid I still don't want MKG

Sorry I just don't like it

My pipe dream would be to trade burks and kanter to get another top pick, or have the golden state pick magically win the lottery. If we had two top 5 picks and a mid first round pick, we could pick something embiid, and one of wiggins, Parker or exum. That would be epic. Then add another impact player with the mid first probably from golden state, and we are already title contenders.

Burke, Hayward, favors, embiid, and one of Parker, wiggins or exum... That would be amazing as a starting five.

Then Add Neto, Evans, gobert, and out other draft pick, and win so many championships!
