My TV Really Did Break!

That S.O.B Jim Dolan took the Knicks (and Rangers) off my local cable company! Money dispute…he wants more. So now my TV does not get Knick games broadcast on MSG network!
We are told to buy Dolan’s app for fifty dollars a month! Happy new year.
Maybe we can all agree on something this new year that these local tv market deals suck and are super antiquated.

Though the Jazz seem to have a reasonable model at least.

Wow. Capitalism sucks occasionally.

I hate the Jazz model. They claimed markets throughout the NW, but only offer the Jazz app in limited markets. That leaves me blacked out on NBA League pass, and no Jazz+. Fubo is the only option, and they don't show all the Jazz games as they also show Nugget games and other sports on the two shared channels. The fact I am blacked out 11 hours from the Utah border is ridiculous, particularly when there is now no "legal" option to get all the games.

So I was forced to do a workaround to watch all the games. Thankfully I found a good solution spoofing my location w one of the digital tv providers and NBALP.

Melo back from the dead!!! Doesn't Dolan own the cable company? He is the biggest arsehole in the NBA for sure.

It feels like every entertainment delivery system is antiquated. The whole industry wishes it was 1995. From sports, to music, to movies, you name it.

It's 2024 and labels still can't figure out a better way to deliver music to you than....radio. It's just called Spotify now. Artists are still not getting paid anything for that, naturally. Streaming rights to movies and shows are still country-specific because we know internet signals stop at borders. NBA sells you an option to watch every NBA game, except the ones you actually wanna watch: your local team's. Oh, and playoffs. Don't forget playoffs. Not like it's the only part of the season that matters.

This is hilarious timing.

Why can’t local games just be shown locally and then League Pass become a NFL Sunday Ticket type thing? So if I just want to watch the Jazz and live in Utah, I can watch them. But if I live in Phoenix and want to watch the Jazz, I’d subscribe to League Pass and get not only the Jazz but everyone else?

Seems like the NFL has figured it out. Why can’t the NBA?

In so many ways the NFL has figured stuff out years ago that the NBA is still struggling with.

Because the NBA doesn't care if you get to view the games, they care about getting everyone to pay the very most for the privilege. Period.
