Name a better wing rotation than Hayward Hood Burks

He probably tried to add talent. But I think he was happy rolling with Burks hood hayward millsap ingles and johnson at the wings.

In fact he did add talent didn't he? We didn't have neto or lyles on the team last year iirc and they are both contributing mightily to our success this year.

DL is doing a great job by my estimation.

We don't have so many injuries and we would be fighting for home court advantage in the playoffs and maybe get to the second round.... With one of the youngest teams in the league and financial flexibility next year.

I'm buying what DL is selling

I have no problem with DL. It is stupid to think that he would have passed on adding a quality wing if he could have. All this nonsense about bakking a cakk is just that, nonsense.

I wonder why we didn't hear about any offer sheets or anything to a wing last summer.

I guess the jazz are notorious for keeping things quiet.

They did seem pretty high on getting alec back though. Almost like they figured getting him back made more wing talent less necessary. Of course that is what they would say for pr reasons.

I guess we will never know who the jazz went after last summer.
What I do know is that I'm happy with the current wings that the jazz have and that the wings being discussed to go after last year are all having down years.

Things worked out for the best regardless of what the jazz intentions were

Nothing will ever be said unless a guy signs an offer sheet. The Jazz delayed signing Booker. Why? My guess is that they wanted that extra flexibility during the 1st part of FA to see what they could do.

They also had #12 pick. I never heard about them trying to move up to get super mario, justise, or stanley johnson. Didn't draft kelly oubre.

So they may have wanted to add talent to the wings... But there isn't any evidence of it. (They did add biggs and a point guard though)

If they did want more talent at the wings then they definitely didn't try hard enough

On the other hand they did add chris Johnson right? (Can't remember if he was here last year)

So that's something

Looking at last off-season as a whole. They added 3 bigs (withey, pleiss, lyles) one wing (i think cj was a new addition), and one point guard (neto)

So they definately were not content to just do nothing. Maybe they wanted to add to the team but just not to the point of disrupting what they had building with their core players.

Or not, no one knows.

Not better, but possible as good: DeRozan, Ross, and Carroll
POssibly Better: Paul George, Monta Ellis, Miles/ Stuckey

Smells like cake up in this bitch.

Good ones.

I have always had people telling me that derozan isnt very good though (i always disagreed) and carroll is having a down year.

George, miles, and ellis are about equal to Hayward, hood, and burks i think. Maybe a bit better

That Indiana one is interesting.
There has always been the george vs Hayward debate. I think George is better but not by much.

Miles is a lefty with a beautiful stroke and good size and athleticism, kind of like hood. Though I think hood is quite a bit better and more versatile.
Ellis was a quick slasher and attacker that was a bit out of control (I don't know what he is like in Indiana but that's how I remember him) that can play some point or sg kind of like Burks. Ellis is probably a little better

In Bill Simmons latest podcast, Simmons ask his guest (Haralabos Voulgaris, famous NBA better), if he would accept Brooklyn's pick, Mav's pick, and David Lee's expiring contract for Gordon Hayward. Voulgaris says no he wouldn't do it if he was Utah. Simmons then admits to trolling Utah fans earlier and that he really likes Gordon Hayward.

He said he would only do it post-lottery selection and if the Brooklyn pick was #1.

Also a giant Boston fan. Green colored glasses type trade anyway.

It's an interesting thought. I would also wait until post lottery, and would probably do it if the pick were top 2. Simmons is the big prize, but I think Ingram has massive potential. His length also fits in extremely well with the roster we look to be trying to build.

Not to mention, moving Hayward's contract - and not having to offer another max deal in the next 1-2 offseasons - makes re-signing the likes of Rudy, Favors, Hood, and/or Exum to big deals more realistic.

PG - Exum
SG - Hood
SF - Ingram
PG - Favors
C - Gobert

Amazing size, length, and athleticism at every position.

Exum has yet to prove he is starter material or a point guard for that matter

He proved he is a top tier defender at PG which is what this team is build on. Defense is half the game and he is great already there. He proved he improves our winning percentage on the court and our ability to win. He has proven that he can bring the ball up,he has proven he takes care of the ball, get us into plays and get the ball into the playmakers hands. He has proven that he can hit enough open 3s that defenses have to guard him. If that is all he does then he is a solid starter on our team with the roster.

He has shown the potential to be much more such as a great passer and great ability to get past his man. Assuming he stays healthy he will do all of the above plus be able to drive and do wonders in a pick and roll situation.

That all makes sense. I agree with all of it.

Imagine if they'd drafted Booker.

I'm perfectly happy with Lyles, but Booker has been phenomenal as well in Phoenix.

Hayward, Hood, Burks, Booker and Jingles. Booker is probably the best 4th wing and Jingles the best 5th wing on a team of they'd done that.

If Exum doesn't work out how do we get a pg? Trade away Burks?

Because of the ballooning cap even what looked like dumb deals last summer will have value next summer. I'm sure DL tried to bring in talent and just couldn't get the guys he wanted. I think it is moronic that some posters on here think that DL avoided adding talent as a strategy.

Miller Corporation told DL to sit on his hands and make them money, while selling to fans that a mediocre bench player (Alec Burks) was their big acquisition.

lol that fans believe a guy who Trey has outplayed this season was a big acquire. Lap up the Koo
