Name coaches that are possible replacements for Corbin?

So far as Horny is concerned, I think we will find he knows a lot more about coaching than what you might think. His father was a very successful high school coach; in fact, he was Isaiah Thomas's (the original HOFer's) high school coach. So Horny grew up with coaching basketball, which is probably one reason why he had such a high bb IQ as a player.

Do you think he has the intensity to be a good coach? He seems even more laid back than Ty.

He is, but he had it as a player, don't you think? Phil Jackson is pretty laid back too.

I was just thinking Phil was the only way laid back coach that was successful. I think he is an outlier. I like Horny a lot, just not sure I wouldn't want to go outside the organization to someone with a bit more experience.

Buzz Williams
Brad Stevens
Larry Brown
Jeff Van Gundy
Stan Van Gundy
Maurice Cheeks
Phil Johnson
Jeff Hornacek
Scott Skiles
Nate McMillan
Sam Mitchell

I don't hate Corbin. But he's wearing thin on me.

Is this list people you would be ok with replacing Corbin or those you think are better than Corbin?

Scott Skiles would be another good choice! A no nonsense guy that would pull the lazy Vets not playing defense or running the plays faster than you can spin your head!

Brian shaw really intrigues me. he learned under phil Jackson. the triangle offense would fit well with the jazz current team. burks and Hayward would tear it up. McCullum at the point (doesn't need to be a traditional pg). favors and kanter also fit perfectly.

Spot on. Horny will be an awesome coach and hopefully he will be our awesome coach if and when we finally get rid of Ty, who I like on a personal level, but who sucks as a coach.

So 2 that there is a 0% chance they are coming to Utah, an assistant so maybe he sucks, SVG (who I like but cannot see him coming to utah anytime soon), and Flip who is mehhh hes ok, had some success but I dont love him.

I think we could get Phil or Larry if the price was right. As for Budenholzer, he's been an assistant coach for the Spurs since Coach Pop started ('96) So he has a lot of experience under him. Plus he'd be coming from the Spurs and he knows pretty much everything and could be a great coach. Better than Ty that's for damn sure.

and also, he's 5-0 when Pop is away during sick days. Don't know if that says much what with the talent on the team though.

Yes.

Corbin might get better, though. I doubt much, but maybe (he won't be Phil or Pop, ever, but the next tier might be enough... if he ever gets there). Corbin is fine, but I don't know if that will do. I find it very disconcerting how little leadership he shows or proves. No one would disagree that the Jazz have better players this year, yet the Jazz at the end of the day will have been only AS good at best, or have regressed since last year. I am not impressed.

I've been talking myself into Corbin basically since he was named coach because I thought the hire was amateur hour (making full head coach and extending immediately, interim on the other hand only would've made sense). He definitely deserved a chance, but if the Jazz miss the playoffs with a better team, a full offseason, a training camp, and nearly 0 roster change? I don't know. This is a topic I spend a lot of time avoiding because a bad (but not bad enough, and extended no less) coach can upend all of the good going on, and quite honestly, I think we've been seeing some of that.

I go back and forth on this, and I've hoped that we'd see some decisiveness without Al, but... *shrug*

No one roots harder for Corbin to succeed than me.
