How about calling them The Core and the rest of the fodder we traded for can be called The Sloppy Seconds?
 
In my eyes, it's still the Core Four.

Let's let Burke and Gobert play their first minute in the NBA before anointing them part of our future. I know the board was really excited about Trey on draft night (I myself have started to drink the Kool-Aid a little bit), but leading up to the draft, he was squarely behind CJ McCollum on my draft board. I had severe questions about his physical limitations at the NBA level. I've been dead wrong on prospects a hundred times before, but he's got a lot to prove.

My beef with people who take issue with Burke's size and athleticism is that they don't point out how those things will affect him on the basketball court. Will it hamper his ability to finish around the rim? Because he shot a better % around the rim than McCollum did and did it against the BEST competition, unlike McCollum, who did it against the WORST. He also did it at a younger age. Not hating on McCollum (I was pimping him long before anyone), I just don't feel like I've seen very convincing arguments from the Burke doubters.

Why are Burke and Kanter in the Core4? They haven't even averaged over 20 mpg in a season yet.

I think it should be the Dynamic Duo (Hayward+Favors).

I haven't hated on Burke, but criticized him moderately - knowing it is summer league. My issues are his label as a floor general, who makes others around him better. In 4 games I haven't seen a creative and willing passer, but a guy who's looking to score and make bad decisions while trying. So I'll keep an eye on his passing skills in the future. If he doesn't develop into a guy who hits close to 40% of his threes and avgs 8+ assists in 30 min I bet we'll wish we had opted for Schröder.

Size matters XXXX more in the NBA than in college.

Burke is a cat though and will be able to get his shots off after some fine tuning adjustments.
