Nash has interest in Utah?

I love Hill, but I don't think he's a PG. I also think Indy would match him even with Nash on board because he's so useful as a combo guy. But I wouldn't go after Hill as my starting point.

I agree with this. He's great as a guy who can come off the bench and play both PG and SG in a scorers role. I'm just not that big of a fan of Collison. He's average, doesn't do anything to wow me.

I am also good friends with Steve Nash. Here is a picture of me and Steve-O(his friends call him Steve-O) with some chick we picked up at the hotel bar and tag-teamed. I didn't want to do it, on the count of her being a skank and all, but Steve-O promised to sign with Utah if I went along. That was right before he signed with the Suns, so I don't believe anything he says anymore. I also picked up crabs on that trip. Lyin' son of a bitch.

Nice one Freak. That's his wife.

Collison's a younger version of Harris. And Indy would want a 1st for him (as a starting point) which isn't worth it. I'm not too high on the guy.

He isn't a starting point anymore. Collison isn't really like Harris. Collison is much more of a passing guard and doesn't have the driving ability, but is a better shooter. He did really good in New Orleans when he took over for Chris Paul (averaged 19 points and 9 assist as a starter).

We need a CBA expert to answer this question. Is there a chance that the Jazz could front load something to Nash for three years that looks something like this: (going off the 10 mil/yr for 3 years that has been thrown out around here) 13 then 9 then 8? We would need to amnesty or trade away for cap space to make it work but it would allow for Nash to get the most money up front and it would give us a little wiggle room for the next two seasons afterwards when the FA market and our guys new contracts come up.

Thoughts?

I hadn't thought about this much until just now, but that's pretty brilliant. A couple of trades taking back marginally less salary on a deal or two, and after amnestying Bell, the Jazz would have enough money. I'm thinking closer to 14-8-8 if it's doable.

P.S. the most realistic best case scenario is the Jazz get Nash, go hard after two max free agents but get one, and keep Millsap.

Expounding just a little on whether you can front load like that, I'm pretty sure OKC did something wild with Collison like this (I think going from $10m then dropping into the $3m range).

The last CBA allowed max declines the inverse of max raises, which were higher than the current 7.5% for bird rights and 4.5% for everyone else. I.E. Harris' contract.

HOWEVA...

Stretch provision

• 2011 CBA: The player's remaining salary and his cap hit may be stretched across twice the number of seasons remaining on the contract, plus one (for example, the salary and cap hit for a player waived with two seasons remaining may be stretched across five seasons). This is entirely at the team's discretion, but it applies only to contracts signed under the 2011 CBA.

Sign Nash for 3 years with a verbal agreement to waive him the final year.
