NBA Attendance Report 2014 - Jazz is #12

Well tbh i remember someone posting that the core 5 played a small amount of minutes on the court at the same time together. That should not have the case

Yes. And I think that's the whole point of the argument: that RJ and MW should have both come off the bench. Then you could have had Enes and Derrick learning to play together. And the same with Burks and Hayward. Who cares if the bench was weak? Well, Corbin because he was trying to maximize wins.

I know most of us envisioned the starting five (core5) being very competitive against most teams, especially at home, then the bench giving up leads in the early 2nd/4th quarters.

So next year, we might finally see IF the wings and bigs can co-exist. That should have happened THIS year. I partially blame DL. He could have stepped in to make sure it happened.

Bull****. Compared to what markets and using what metric? Average price? Median price? Cheapest ticket/get in price?

Are they one of the cheaper tickets? Yes. But not by much on average. And certainly not enough to explain their attendance rates compared to other markets with cheaper tickets. Plus they're one of the smallest markets in the league so of course prices will be lower. But underpriced? If you're not selling out every night then your prices probably aren't "underpriced."

I've gotten into many clippers games for <$10 too. Jazz at clippers tickets for row 30 were $35. Comparable to jazz lower bowl prices in Utah.

The link you sent me just proved my point, Jazz games' average ticket prices are lower than 17 teams, which is more than half the league.

On Christmas day, I went to Spurs-Rockets in San Antonio and I was shocked by how expensive the tickets were. And I got them from a secondary discount site. Only game in town, plus best team of the past decade I guess.

Does it really matter anyway though? Don't NBA collects all the money from tickets and merchandise sales and distribute this evenly amongst teams in terms of normalised profits?

Don't individual teams generate extra revenues for their own from concessions like food and drinks, etc?

especially to Euros like me who don't know much about Utah and SLC.

For the most part, Utah and it's cities are incredibly ****ing boring. There isn't much to do in SLC and many of it's establishments close @ 9pm because many of the Mormon faith believe only the unfaithful roam the streets at night. Also, SLC is really ****ing boring if I didn't already mention that.

It doesn't prove your point. How does that show tickets are "underpriced." What leads you to believe they should be priced higher? Not selling out would indicate tickets are generally over priced and not set at the real market rate.

Fine, then let's just say Jazz's tickets are priced lower than most teams in the NBA.

Lol. While I agree that there is less here than other places I find this wildly inaccurate. There's plenty of things to do, well into the night, if you know where to look.

Scrabble night at Bayleaf or Bayou is not my idea of "plenty of thing's to do."

False

You do know that the Jazz still got their money right? Jazz are just fine. Not only that but with 2 1st rounders (one likely a top 5), a new coach, 1/2 the roster as free agents and cash to spend the Jazz will do enough to more than make up for the few fair weathers they did lose.

Sure, you're correct on this, but it doesn't make up for the misery of three plus years that we had to endure of Corbin as coach.

Well said,

Having only lived here and in Georgia, just curious, what is it you do in to the night that can't be done here?

I would like to hear the answer to this as well. I swear it is mostly just vinyls perception of SLC rather than reality. Boring people are usually bored. Also businesses that close at nine do so because they don't do well later businesses that do do well stay open.(clubs, restaurants, coffee shops, etc)
