NBA Columnist/Cavs Insider Sam Amico: "Jazz have made Burks available"

Fed up ... how can you continue to follow a team when the management and coaching continually screws up its chances to get better. That's my dilemma. It all started with AK, but there are numerous other examples since Stock-Malone retired.

There have been bad moves and good ones. Thus the life of a small-market NBA franchise (or any franchise for that matter).
Right now, my only real gripe is the ULTRA conservative play-calling and seemingly lack of developing the talented young'uns.

I'm starting to agree with Ty not playing Burks. He looks like garbage so far, and I don't buy into his preseason or summer league performances. Fact is he can't shoot, please don't ask him to make an ft, and the scary thing is his best strength is getting to the line, hell even Favors is making ft's at a greater rate, and he doesn't pass. Foye drives me nuts sometimes but is a more complete player and gives us a better chance to win. With that said I still want Ty fired. He doesn't get his guys to buy into any kind of system, offense or defense.

Remember one thing, Foye is a chucker but it's not like he's CJ who couldnt hit a shot to save his life. Even when he takes a bad shot I always think it's going in. When CJ took even a good wide open shot I'd be upset with no confidence he'd make it.

Does anyone really think this "rumor" holds any water? Or is it more likely that someone made KOC and offer, KOC turned it down and the rumor got out that he was being shopped?

Is that all that matters that a guy can shoot -- You need more guys like Carroll who play an all-around bust his butt game as complementary players, not a guy who just shoots while causing all sorts of other negatives that cancel out his shooting like Foye.

Fire ty hire phil Jackson i know it won't happen but we have the tools to run the triangle and when run right its pretty hard to stop Burkes would then fill the ball handling sg like mj dont need a dominant pg then i mean steve Kerr and Derrick Fisher weren't Stockton but they have lots of rings

Meh, I can of hate statements like these. If a player isn't mentally tough enough to overcome not playing in his 2nd year, then he probably isn't mentally tough to become a worthwhile player.

Thanks Dr. Phil. Say, whatever happened to NAOS?

Burks scores double digit points tonight.

When I was repping Burks before the season started I made frequent references to his slashing abilities -- which are unique for this team and therefore impossible to ignore. So I thought. As it turns out, unique abilities are a recipe for getting squeezed out by lower-ceiling known-commodities.

Perhaps a player like Burks shouldn't get so easily frustrated (if that's actually what's happening), but he does have a couple of reasons. Moreover, the ability to get frustrated doesn't point to entirely bad qualities in a player; the staff has to cultivate the good in that ability and carefully clip the bad qualities. I can't see any of this from my seat.

Burks and Kanter should both being getting lots more minutes... Foye and Tinsley playing too many + we need to trade Al or Sap. Simple. I hope we haven't pissed in our own pool.
