Seven ties among teams that finished the 2011-12 NBA regular season with identical records were broken today through random drawings to help determine the order of selection for the 2012 NBA Draft, which will be held on Thursday, June 28, at The Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

The drawings were conducted earlier today in New York City by Carol Sawdye, NBA Chief Financial Officer, and Dan Rube, NBA Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. The tiebreak process was overseen by Martin Shannon, a partner in the accounting firm of Ernst & Young.

My gut tells me the Pistons are winning the lottery. Davis looks and feels like a Detroit guy and God knows Stern would like the Motor City to start playing well again.

You should change your name to scoop.

Thanks, pal.

Oh, and don't worry, once Toronto officially leapfrogs into the top 3 and knocks our GS pick back to #8, I'll post a link of the video 20 minutes after it happened, just for you.

dude, ripped the words out of my mouth. I'm not getting the feeling that they'll win it, but for some reason I think DEEEEtroit is gonna get into the top 3.

Oh, yeah, and **** ******* **** ******* ******* **** ******* **** the Warriors in the ***.

I guess if there's a silver lining from today, it would have to be that our pick we traded to Minny fell all the way to #18. So Technically we lost 3 "coin-flips" today.

True. Maybe #2 and they get MKG who has that passion and soul Detroit loves.

Here's a question: if one of the teams behind Golden State (say, Toronto) moves into the top 3 and we do get the Warriors' pick, do we have to draft Kendall Marshall or Damian Lilliard? We seem to be set at every position with young players except at PG. I would say yes.

Karma had it that the Jazz lost their 3rd coin toss in a row. The best part of it is that the NBA forgot that pick didn't actually go to the Jazz... it goes to Minny. Suckers.
