I think it's what Ginobili does that sometimes results in a bad play is what makes him so good. He forces the issue and when he does and he's on, he usually succeeds and in crunch time it leads to a big play. Tonight he took it to the Heat and played with an aggressiveness that he had been lacking. I believe it was because Pop had given him the green light and told him to do his thing.

Agreed. He had a sick assist in the lane where he looked otherwise out of control.

He had another asst. to Green where he passed to the corner and Green had to adjust to where he should have already anticipated his pass to be. Gino is a heady player.

If the Spurs win, it vindicates all of CJazz's complaints about Hopper ball. A good team will usually beat a team of better individuals. It would be interesting though to see the big threes match up in 3-on-3. Wonder who would win -- probably Miami because of Lebron.

Wow.

Damn.

It's games like these that just make you admire at the greatness of one of the best franchises in all of pro sports.

Who the hell is Danny Green? Kawhi Leonard is such a stud. Spurs Big 3 stepped up and looked 10 years younger. Even Boris Diaw gave them good mins!

I know they've beaten the crap out of us under the Duncan regime. But man, what a fantastic team. I'm going to miss them when they're gone. They play hoops the way it's supposed to be played.

Agreed. I just can't help but respect the Spurs. Thay are what I want the Jazz to become.

Such a great chess match between coaches! Who said Spurs are to old? They run Heat out of the building! Loved tempo in this game, somebody said that Spurs need to score in 80 range in order to win and to contain Miami's fast break. So what Pop does? Tells his team to push the tempo and outruns and outguns "more athletic and younger" Heat. Miam's big threee did not like to run back on transition defense, it looks like they like to run on attack only lol.
Wondering whats next up the sleeve for Spoelstra.
And if Spurs win, who is MVP of these finals? Leonard? Green? Duncan? Parker? you name it please, I am to confused here.

I got a kick out of seeing Allen's face when Green broke his record for 3s in a finals series. He was not happy.

...to quote one of the most fundamentally sound, tells it like it is, better basketball commentator in NBA history and HOFamer.....Rick Barry:"You can't make a good play.....then come down the court and make a bad play.....and expect that you contributed ANYTHING!" You must consistently make good plays both offensively and defensively......if you want to be called an "impact" player! Right now, the Spurs have more of those type guys than the Heat! As well as Ginobli has played, he scares me every other possession.....because you don't know if it's going to be two points for you......or two points for them.....which is a 4 point swing! You make two of those bad plays and now your behind by 8 points! And with the Heat, you can't do that and expect to win! That's another reason why I'd rather see the Spurs take a 24 second violation rather than force up a shot that results in a fast break hopper dunk on your noggin.....kind of get my drift?

...they also have athletic ability AND a boat load of basketball brains!

.....great observation! Solidly based on facts....and not assumptions! Clearly substantiated by NBA "achieves" of video, rather than non existent fossil record!

....Maybe some "jailhouse tats?"

....well if Green makes 4 or more three pointers tonight and the Spurs close these clowns out....he's gettin my vote!

Good article on why the Heat deserve to lose....and may just do that tonight! In part, it points out that the Heat have "dissed" the Spurs and think they can win on AA only! (athletic ability) Like this point especially: "Between the lines in these Finals, the Heat have been dismissive of the Spurs -- and it's been baffling. Miami often treats San Antonio like an opponent that doesn't warrant its full attention or concentration. The Heat stagger their energy, drift through possessions on both ends of the floor and ignore essential assignments and tasks. There are long stretches when the Heat play as if they can subsist on a steady diet of run-outs, hero-ball and early jumpers."

I think he really wanted to say "hopper ball"....but someone stopped him!

Anyone that thinks Miami plays "hopper ball" is a moron, it vindicates nothing. The teams play very similar offensively, both based off precision and three point shooting. No one on the Heat forces bad shots except Wade occasionally. People make fun of Bosh going soft but he has completely sacrificed his game to play within their system. Every shot he takes is wide open. Miami is up +12 assists on the Spurs this series (with less turnovers as well).

.....really? Up by 12? In a way that's very surprising, but as I said in a previous post, both teams are somewhat disappointing to watch when they (especially the Heat) try to beat their man off the dribble, jump up in the air.....and THEN decide where to go with the ball! Heat have been effective against the weaker teams with that "system" and even against the Spurs to some extent.....but it's still a facet of "hopper" ball, and I for one, don't like it all that much!

I have a feeling that Miami is going to win... In a blowout...

Game 7 here we come!

But go Spurs go! End this thing tonight!!
