NBA Playoffs

@Gameface none of those where him getting his shot blocked....

I know what you mean by him going into traffic without a great plan.

The difference between Ja and Mitchell is that Ja can really launch himself into defenders at high speeds in ways Mitchell can not.
Yeah, those are not the best examples but those kinds of plays are not the things highlights are usually made of so unless they happen at the end of a game their is no clip of them. In both the vids I showed Don lost the handle, but there are many other times when he got stripped and sometimes blocked.

Still waiting on Cy’s “Brandon Clarke is garbage” thread because he's one of the four guys we traded for Conley

Eh, because without the pick we gave to Memphis in the 2019 Conley deal they wouldn't be able to take Clarke?

Difference between Ja and DM is that Ja has a strong supporting cast on cheap contracts, not some washed old dude making 20mil while giving you the productions of a (end of) bench player.

That old dude from Memphis currently averages 8pt in the series on 30% shooting while making more money than JJJ, Bane and Clarke combined.

And, Ja can count to 8.
This will always hurt. And it’s always something prominent in my mind many times per game as the ball is walked up.

Also, why do we insist on running against a set defense?

IDK, the **** Memphis did with Adams is goofy to me. Maybe Adams can't be super effective in this series, but to completely bench him? He's a big reason they were who they were.

You know Memphis is going to go hard at Gobert this off-season if he is available.
You know... Stephen Adams would be a perfect player and contract for a rebuild/tank. One of the best culture guys there are, won't win you a single game by himself, good enough to stick around if your team suddenly gets better, good enough to trade to a playoff team.

It's easy for you to say these things now after the fact but like i said, hindsight is 50/50 and judging a player's talent level during a nba draft is completely subjective. How do you define a player being the most talented and the best available?

Some would say the player who was the most nba ready(Jahlil Okafor, Derrick Williams, Jabari Parker, Trey Burke, etc) and some would say the player who has the best measurement and raw athleticism(Frank Ntilikina, DedEx, MKG, Thon Maker, etc).

See? you can find busts in both of these categories. Some would still argue that we really should've drafted Giannis in 2013 but the reality is that none of us has a time machine to know that what we were looking at was the future MVP of this league.

But what we really don't need a time machine for is the basic needs of this team. i mean it doesn't take rocket science to know that this Jazz team needs some size, athleticism and defense across 1-4, which makes Herb Jones the most fitting candidate.

Had we selected Herb Jones, at least we would've gotten a chance to see what we truly have because he would've gotten ample opportunities to play. We don't know what we have with Butler. And unless we go into a full teardown next season, Butler may be gone before we could ever find out
Haha sure… also a player as limited as Forrest was able to block a minimal role for JB so I’m sure Snyder would have totally given Herb the time over Gay and Paschall.

Valanciunas is better for playoff basketball because he's actually a threat on offense while being a solid rebounder and post defender.

Could have sworn I said that before but nobody wanted to listen and just wanted to bash NOLA for the Memphis trade.

The bashing was primarily because of the fit with Zion… who doesn’t play basketball anymore. It ended up working out for them because of the wonky pick protections… but almost everyone thought the Lakers would avoid being a bottom 10 team. If Zion is ever healthy I’m not sure what the lineup looks like.

And shortening the clock… those extra 5 seconds we milk are worth the lesser shot I guess.

forrest's been hurt for like a month now... he's not the reason that Butler didn't play. And like I said, butler is a good rebuilding piece after we get rid of Conley or even DM, but not one that could help with our current championship push.
