I think you peple giving them a failing grade are really being unrealistic. Remember this is the Jazz who've been one of the worst road teams for the past five years. this just makes me want to grade them even lower. they are horrible on the road so we should lower expectations? makes no sense
If you realize that than how can you give them a bad grade, when you know they've played the most road games of ANY team in the nba, and they still have a winning record. Considering this teams history of road woes, to have a winning record after playing more road games than any team in the nba deserves a good grade.

the poor grades are primarily due to the lack of playing time for the youngsters and no real team improvement year over year. Sure we are seeing individual improvements from the youngsters but when they see very little playing time, it does us no good. It actually harms us becasue they are not likely to re-sign with a team that would not give them the playing ttime.

We are just about were I predicted they would be at this point. Grade from me a little lower because of the lack of time given to the young guys. C

We'll have to finish the year 30-13 to finish with a 50 win team so I really don't see that happening, but I still think 46-48 is very doable.

i like being optomistic... i like the 48 win season. lets go with that. by the end of the year that could still be a 6th or 7th seed.

Lol I won't even adress how you tried to completly change my statement to make some ridicously pessimistic statement.

What do you mean no real improvement?\

The team's passing as a whole has improved this season
Jefferson's playing the best ball of his career
Hayward's become consistant on his jumper
Burks is developing his point guard skills
Carrol is developing an offensive game
Kanter has improved his post game from last season
Paul Millsap improved his three point shot
Favor's has improved both his defense and offense

I really don't understand what you're complaining about? It the same kind of whining spurs fans were doing for 2 years about Tiago. Now Pop has him starting nearly half way through his third season. Next year we know Millsap and Al's contracts are gone and we know the young guns will get minutes, so I'm not complaining. I think it's clear Lindsey gonna make a trade before the deadline anyway.

I'm not saying you're wrong. I've been saying I wanted Sap and Al gone since last season, however, that doesn't mean I want to hear constant whining after every game, win or not. I enjoy watching this team when they're playing good basketball, doesn't matter if it's the young guns, or Al Jefferson lighting up the other team. And I feel with the history this team has with problems on the road, to have the most road games out of any team in the leauge, and have a winning record I feel they've exceed expectations.

If they have an averge record after this home heavy schedule coming up, than I'd feel they're dissapointing

I think it's been a pretty good season so far. We have a bright future too. great things to come. We probably could have won a few more games. No biggie. We just need to get in the playoffs. Then anything can happen.

Dude, you may not know this, not many people do, but the Jazz have like, played the most road games of like the entire NBA. Now they have this homestand they are going to start kicking butt. I would say 40-3, but the injury to Mo has hurt them so probably 38-5 or something. :D

Wait I thought we had played the most home games in the NBA..... THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!

I kinda feel like a lot of the board now has moved to (could be a newer younger fan base) sounding like spoiled little brats only wanting exactly what they want and they want it only exactly how they want it or they wont be happy.
Not saying they don't have that right they are die hard fans and can be that way, just like when I first joined this board (possible the older fan base) was more appreciative of having a team in Utah so put up with more. To the point of being to passive/accepting or excuse making for the F/O and coaching.

I think I'm somewhere in the middle and a mix of these two (all the negatives none of the positives).

I had a point but my ADD and alzheimer's kicked in so hell if I know what it was.

I'll say "B". We are about where I'd expect considering the disparity of home and away games, our injury situation, showcasing for a trade, and our younger players learning. I expected us to showcase Jefferson/Millsap for a trade and that Favors/Kanter would suffer for minutes until the trade deadline. However, if that anticipated trade does not occur, we still need to jack up Favors/Kanter's minutes anyway.

The team's passing as a whole has improved this season
Jefferson's playing the best ball of his career Offensive ball - n o real improvements defensively
Hayward's become consistant on his jumper
Burks is developing his point guard skills Burke's is not a point guard and he gets a total of 13 minutes a game which is less than last season
Carrol is developing an offensive game Carroll is an energy guy and is not a main COG
Kanter has improved his post game from last season hard to tell in 14 minutes a game
Paul Millsap improved his three point shot How about the rest of his game???/
Favor's has improved both his defense and offenseFavors is averaging 20 min a game- the same amount of time as year and the year before Why isn't he getting more time???

I really don't understand what you're complaining about?See above just like in my original post - fristrated that our young nucleus is getting no time/experience.

We've seen good things comes from the youngsters in spurts. We've seen Hayward grow before our eyes.
We've had a few signature wins, and the big buzzer beater vs. SA.

We've also seen the vets struggle at times, and sometimes they've been unwatchable.
I've seen enough of Tinsley, and Watson to make me dream of their release.

Corbin is jerking around Favors, and Kanter. We won't even mention Burks.
I only ask how far along would Hayward be now if he got the same treament as Alec?

We're at the crossroads in our season and the most dependent home franchise in the NBA is finally coming home to stay. 20-19 I think is a disappointing number, but with the 24-15 road/home game disparity can we really be upset with the current results? Obviously there's been some infuriating games & decisions this season so far, but I think at the beginning of the year if you said we could be 20-19 after 39 games with our schedule we most likely would've taken it. So rate this season as a whole so far.
The record is ok, as I really though this next stretch of 20 games is where Utah would make a move. But how we've gotten there is disappointing. Hayward has started to play better, but I haven't seen all that much from Kanter or Favors. I was expecting a huge leap from Derrick, so that's been my biggest concern. At least Alec is getting some minutes, after a ton of DNP-CD's. But too much of the offense is still based upon throwing it into Al and having him try to back down the opponent. That's a fair enough option when he has a mismatch, but not every game. Jazz have wasted the Marvin Williams' trade; he could have been a solid addition if Ty had involved him in the offense. A 7th/8th seed (or even out of the playoofs) with a lot of development from the youngsters = SUCCESS. The same result by relying on guys who may not even be here next year (Al, Paul and Randy) = MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.
