Wow, has anyone seen this? What an amazing story. So haunting. I still cannot believe it's real. As you all know I'm a big fan of true crime stories, and this is one of the best yet. An amazing story expertly told.

"What a monster" - is all I can say. Truly the devil incarnate.

If you haven't already seen it do check it out. Content may disturb, so I wouldn't watch this with someone under 18.

Tell me what you guys think.

I was on the fence about investing the time; but I'll check it out now.

Thanks!

Would be interested to know what you think. There are some really haunting/creepy moments in this that really gave me goosebumps, I'd be interested to know if you also had that reaction.

Granted I usually watch these at night & turn down the lights to get the full effect, but still.

Also this is right up Bulletproof and Wes Mantooth alleys ... are you guys watching this? Also @8 , the music in this was SUPERB.

Edit: oh it seems the @ function doesn't work with a numerical name.

I won't lie. My buddy heard great things and we were talking about it but I just don't have enough hours in a day to watch it right now with the tv I already watch, raise two kids relatively (minimally?) right, eat, take a ****, sleep, work, drive, watch 5 hours of Sofia the First and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and do any schoolwork (grading, lesson plans, curriculum writing, etc.) that I have on the plate. Like legit, if I got my hands on a genie, asking for an extra 3-5 hours a day would be fairly high up my list. It would be:

1. **** any porn star I want each day.
2. Give me 5 billion untaxed.
3. Give Mantooth 5 more hours in a day.

And yes, the great sex would supersede the money.

You wasting the **** time. Dat mobile Netflix.

Just finished episode 2. Of course, it reminds me of Spotlight.

All I can say is "The Great and Abominable."

I just finished this and would highly recommend it to anyone that likes "solving crimes" and so forth. This guy was truly a monster but was very intelligent at the same time. Extremely disgusting with what he did. I'd like to see others opinions and I'm curious to what others think also

I said this in the OP that I think he's the devil incarnate (if you believe the devil exists). The best thing was how karma caught up with him and took him early, but even that was really an easy out for him imo. He should have been made to face real world's justice as well for what he did.

Then what got me the most mad was how ordinary people cannot seem to get the law changed on the statute of limitation because the Catholic Church is too big and powerful and won't support the Bill.

That to me is the real injustice here.

Yea that was a tough scene. When the church's attorney was speaking about the bill I was cringing. How could people not start throwing things at him?

Like they could have just sat on their hands if they don't support it. Bit they went out of their way to OPPOSE it. I mean that was pretty blatant.

What was your most haunting scene? For me it was the 'nun in the attic' scene... damn that scene gave me the creeps and still does.

SPOILERS@!!!

Not even just the bill but there's no doubt in my mind that there was or is someone in that organization that knew about what was going on but because Joe had access to everything he needed, he just got away with everything. I do believe Edgar had something to do with it too but he looks like he's ready to kick the can at any second and won't talk.

Unfortunately, I don't think the case between the 2 girls will ever get solved. Most the people are in their 70's (ish) and most of the important people are gone. I was hoping it all came out at the end but still keeps you thinking

Yeah no doubt they knew. I singled out the Bill because it's something that is ongoing. Everything that went on in the past they could simply deny they had no knowledge of what went on, or that Joeseph was acting on his own, etc.

But this push against the Bill is happening TODAY. It's what the Church is collectively choosing to stand behind.

It shows that they are still not willing to own up to what happened and are still lying to the public and the congregation going forward. That's really what disgusted me the most.

Yea that scene was haunting. I had trouble sleeping the night I watched that episode.

I think the creepiest thing for me was just the understanding that these Priests were using what information they gathered from confessions to use it against them, or even recreate those previous molestation expereinces. Probably one of the most evil things I have scene/heard about.

This series made "Spotlight" look like a Disney movie.

In your earlier post when you said this is like Spotlight I was thinking... Nah.. Keep watching... hahaha...

This doc made Spotlight feel like a Sunday stroll in the park.
