Nets After Sap?

Hmm.... The Nets considering Boozer, Millsap and Nene. Think DWill has influence on management decisions? DWill admitted he factored into getting Avery Johnson fired.....although they're playing better now.

A team with DWill, Boozer, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez could challenge. Expensive roster though.

I think it's management finally realizing you have to give a player pieces that compliment your best players talents.

I think the Nets are a good trading partner for the Jazz. They have an expensive roster comprised of players who have reached their ceiling, they're in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff standings, and they're desperate to contend in a year where they actually could if they make one more move. Sounds like a team that might be motivated to give up a bit extra. We've taken advantage of their all-in approach in the past with both the DWill trade and the Okur trade.

If I'm KOC, I'd try to use this to make something happen with a third team.

Yes they are one PF away from contending. Millsap would be cheap enough as they're already paying two max contracts. Start Millsap. Humph off the bench as sixth man. That's a decent team.

Here is my trade:

https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=9wwqs7d

Basically it boils down like this:

Utah gives up Millsap and GS pick
Boston gives up Rondo and Pierce
Nets give up Lopez and Brooks
Clippers give up Odom Crawford

Utah has this lineup:

Rondo - Mo - Tinsley - Watson
Foye - Hayward - Burks - Murphy
Williams - Carroll
Favors - Evans
Al - Kanter

Clips look like this:
Paul - Billups
Brooks - Green
Pierce - Butler - Barnes - Hill
Griffin - Thompkins
Jordan - Turiaf - Hollins

Boston:
Bledsoe - Terry - Bradley
Crawford - Lee - Barbosa
Odom - Green
Garnett - Bass - Sullinger - Wilcox
Lopez - Melo - Collins

And Brooklyn picks up Millsap, the GS pick

I think every team comes out really well except for NJ, but they are stupid anyways. Utah does well because they keep the big 4, pick up a franchise PG and only give up Millsap.

Boston gives up Rondo, a very, very good player. They do get to dump Pierce. They get Lopez, Crawford and Bledsoe, three starters to build around. They get better.

The Clippers give up Odom, Crawford and Bledsoe, but become instant contenders with the addition of Pierce and Brooks.

Am I crazy here? I would much, much rather have Rondo than Bledsoe, and every team gets better, except for NJ...and they might be better too because I think Millsap is better than Brooks.

This is non-sense. The Nets have used this media strategy for 3 years or more.....talk about the biggest FA or disgruntled player available like they have an inside track to get him. At the least it creates a buzz around the team and might get the fans a bit excited. At the worst it helps a guy out of town (howard) for less than the team could've got for him. The Brooklyn Drama Queens.

Wow green that trade is terrible in so many ways I don't know where to start. But how about this. I think the only team that makes out is Utah. NJ gets royally screwed. And the Clippers don't come out much better. The Celtics are unlikely to trade both Rondo and Pierce unless they get a superstar and you have not given them one.

I might agree to Humphries, Brooks, and a future first-rounder for Millsap and Bell.

Humphries is expensive but expires next season. Brooks and Burks would be a good battle for a future starting 2-guard. Nets would take over Bell's remaining contract. Humphries per year contract would be similar to what Millsap will ask for. Do you really want Millsap for 4 years and $48million to be the back-up PF? I could tolerate Humphries at 1 year and $12m.

Bledsoe, Lopez and a Kardashian.

I like all of that. Great point about Millsap.

The Clippers dump redundancy in Bledsoe and get a superstar and young sg with a lot of potential.

Bledsoe, Lopez and a Kardashian.
Like I said you have not given them one. Bledsoe is unproven, Lopez is not a superstar. The Kardashian is damaged goods that any team outside of LA will be unlikely to touch for more than salary filler (another way of saying he's nothing to the Celtics), You also gave them Crawford who is good but not a superstar.

The Nets don't even consider this. You have them trading both Lopez and Brooks for Millsap. They would not trade Brook Lopez straight up for Millsap and you have them adding in more.

In Greens defense, Lopez and Bledsoe are good pieces. Look at the Jazz, what superstar did we get back in return? Boston comes out with some great pieces in that deal. A legit center to pair with Fab Melo and Sullinger and an up and coming PG and a draft pick. Also, Boston would miss the playoffs and knowing Stern he would make sure Boston gets a pick 1-3.

A team with DWill, Boozer, Joe Johnson, Gerald Wallace and Brook Lopez could challenge. Expensive roster though.

That would be a ridiculous starting five. That's an All-Star/former AS (assuming Lopez will be voted in by coaches) at all five positions.

Why would the Clips down grade when they are legit contenders? Anyone paying attention to LA this season knows Crawford is a big reason they're successful. No way they make this trade.

Thanks for the input. How about this:

https://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=b93v37j

The changes are this:

Utah gives up Al and Paul.
Boston gives up Rondo and Pierce
Brooklyn gives up Humphries
Clippers give up Bledsoe and dead weight (Hill, Odom, Green)

Utah:
Rondo - Mo - Tinsley - Watson
Foye - Hayward - Burks - Murphy
Williams - Carroll
Favors - Humphries - Evans
Kanter

Clips look like this:
Paul - Billups
Crawford - Barnes
Pierce - Butler
Griffin - Thompkins
Jordan - Turiaf - Hollins

Boston:
Bledsoe - Terry - Bradley
Crawford - Lee - Barbosa
Odom - Green - Hill
Garnett - Bass - Sullinger - Wilcox
Big Al - Melo - Collins

The Nets basically swap Humphries for Millsap.

The Clippers gain a superstar and keep Crawford.

Boston gets their superstar with Al (I know, I know, but you can sell him as a guy to go next to Garnett), young potential pg, and cap room next summer.

New Jersey gets Millsap for nothing.

The Jazz get Rondo, and keep the big 4. I think the Jazz take the biggest risk out of the group. They give up two known commodities for potential in Favors and Kanter and Rondo might demand out if it doesn't pan out quickly.

Worse?

This also gives Utah a chance at a max player in the summer of 2014. You could have this lineup:

Rondo
Hayward
Max Player
Favors
Kanter

Basically Utah gives up Millsap and Al for 2014.
