What's new

Never Trump

Matt Walsh is a conservative blogger who has been very outspoken about not liking Trump, and many of my more liberal friends even posted articles of his a few months back, so I was wondering if that's who Red was referring too.

Yep, since July, 2015. I just went to his blog and saw this entry. The article I posted in reply to your question has to have been what I was referring to, as I noticed it was the second page I saved when I created an election 2016 folder. So, I did misspeak from faulty memory...

Guys, I think this was released this week, though the surveys date a few months ago. Check out just how partisan things have become. We are being too civil under the circumstances, lol.

Not at all funny though. We already know, regardless of who wins, that this partisanship is likely not going to be tamped down at all.

https://www.people-press.org/2016/06/22/partisanship-and-political-animosity-in-2016/

"The 2016 campaign is unfolding against a backdrop of intense partisan division and animosity. Partisans’ views of the opposing party are now more negative than at any point in nearly a quarter of a century.

For the first time in surveys dating to 1992, majorities in both parties express not just unfavorable but very unfavorable views of the other party. And today, sizable shares of both Democrats and Republicans say the other party stirs feelings of not just frustration, but fear and anger.

More than half of Democrats (55%) say the Republican Party makes them “afraid,” while 49% of Republicans say the same about the Democratic Party. Among those highly engaged in politics – those who say they vote regularly and either volunteer for or donate to campaigns – fully 70% of Democrats and 62% of Republicans say they are afraid of the other party."

Mission accomplished.

Also regardless of the winner this will not get better and I'd bet on it getting worse.

Debatable
Only because they both have such massive warts, but if you really want to believe that Hillary is not the more corrupt of the two then you'd better avoid looking at any of the Wikileaks stuff that's coming out and you need to figure out a way to explain away stuff like this:

Then one points to the massive amount of lies, position changes, policy ignorance and openly advocating for violation of basic fundamental freedoms by Trump.

Their warts are different but all I see in a comparison in the two is which mountain of crap you wish to dive into. Both of them are high enough to make debating the volume silly and pointless.

Truly shocking that we are about to choose one of these two to lead our country.

I honestly believe the Libertarian candidate (Johnson or otherwise) has a chance this year. A lot can happen over the next 5 months.
Yeah, I guess that's a possibility. He seems like an odd duck and his running mate seems like a misfit, too. I met a guy who worked with Gary Johnson at Taos Ski Resort 30 years ago. He was blown away that his ski bum buddy might have a legit shot at being pres.

I agree. If leadership doesn't not moderate the public passions, I think it is not actually good leadership.

Given the possibilities that Trump might be, oh, a Hitler of some kind, the reticence of some Republican Party honchos to endorse him might look responsible, and "leadership-like".

Given the established facts regarding Hillary, the failure of the DNC looks irresponsible to me, and corrupt beyond help.

But given the record of the those so-called "responsible" or "Leadership-like' Republicans, I could make the case stink as much on them as I could on the Dems.

Just the fact that Trump stands defiant against the collusion of the Bigs in both parties is the whole reason about thirty percent of Americans will stand solid for him.

Colton, if you want moral leadership, you need to support Trump, or someone else who will rock this boat.

The only way real leadership can regain the consent and support of the American Public is to actually reject perps who disregard the US Constitutional separation of powers and who are this corrupt.

I say we have a yellow journalism binge going on in the major media, if not also in the leftwing and rightwing fringes, that is feeding the public panic and hysteria and distracting the public from real issues and covering up real facts the people should know.
Shame on our corporate media.

Is there anything more silly than wanting moral leadership from your president? Anyone with any sort of morals would never even become eligible for President, let alone win.

Are you saying that Romney, Sanders, Kasich, etc. are not moral or do you think they weren't eligible to become president? Are you satisfied with the ethics or morality of the two major party candidates this year?

Some great Trump diarrhea of the mouth.

child's play compared to Hillary.

Who wants to help me produce the greatest campaign ad ever?

Well, a series of pics. . . .

Hillary and Bill depicted taking $140 M in arranging for Putin to buy American uranium resources.

Hillary putting the red phone in a water closet in her apartment in Colorado. . . .

The phone ringing at 3 AM. . . ringing and ringing. . . . ringing again.

The daisy ad from 1964, with Hillary replacing Goldwater as the mentally unstable leader.

Hillary emerging from her Camp David bomb shelter, looking over the blackened landscape, saying. . .

"At this point, what difference does it make?"

refreshing to see Trump talking to himself, actually.

I have never heard of a water closet before.

People like Cruz and Gingrich respect one thing about Trump that they lack. . . uhhhmmm. . . . besides Billions of dollars in business assets. . . .

Show Biz.

rather than dissect the unpremeditated words, accept what they really are. Stage Presence. A human being living in the moment for the best effect on the audience. A real, live, human being. Not an ideologue reading a teleprompter saying all the things he's told to say, and nothing of his own real momentary thoughts.
