What's new

* NEW * 2019 Annual JazzFanz All-Time NBA Draft

Here is my team so far

Lebron James
Klay Thompson
Paul George
Dennis Rodman
Nikola Jokic
I like it. Only issue is you will struggle against Hakeem/Kareem/Shaq/Bill. Jokic the sieve in the center is risky. Prove me wrong.

Im just gonna go with the story that Rodman can shut them down or slow them down for a game or two, or stretches. He did it before.

Jazz probably win the finals against the Bulls if Malone wasn't being guarded by Rodman.

I recognize that is the biggest problem with my team. But I wrestled with either doing what I did or trying to add a defensive big. But then Id get the spacing argument against me, and anyone I pick wouldnt get any credit for stopping them anyways.

I went the route I did because you can make a legit argument that Rodman at the very least bothered people no matter how big or dominant they were.

Its just a weird team. I love LeBron and Klay, but it just gets weird from there. PG isn't going to spot up shoot. He needs the ball. Jokic wont be able to play to his strengths because LBJ will control the flow and PG too.

Remember how Love got lost in the shuffle with Kyrie and LBJ? Jokic will be Love, Rodman Tristan Thompson. Klay is the upgrade, but this team just feels like a souped up Cavs.

Not even close.

1. There is no Kyrie on this team. There is no one close to him.

2. PG can easily spot up and shoot, and knock them down, but you dont want him only doing that. He is another creator, but also very unselfish and a very good passer.

3. Did you really compare Rodman to Thompson? Rodman is the best pound for pound rebounder and defender to ever play. Tristan doesnt even compare defensively or in resounding.

4. Jokic and Lebron are not overlapping players. Willing great passers play great with each other. The problem is when you have players who need to dribble a lot too. Neither Lebron, Jokic or PG are those players. And neither is Klay.

This team is loaded with super unselfish great passers who dont need to dribble a bunch to be effect. That is a recipe for great ball movement, and great basketball.

Its a good team, but in my opinion, odd. That's all. I think PG sticks out. The other 4 could work really well and play within their roles. I don't see PG doing well in the 3rd option role or Klay in the 4th option role.

Its a good team though.

I compared Rodman and Tristan based off of the role they play. Of course Rodman is miles better. But they are both there for defense, rebounding and hustle. Outside of putbacks, they have zero offense.
