New Jersey Now Projected to Take Wesley Johnson Third

Why would NJ re-sign Tony Battie (whose career is likely over) or Jarvis Hayes? I'm also 95% certain Dooling is gone. Moot points, I know, but they'd be throwing away a lot of money and cap-space by re-signing those guys and it wouldn't happen.

I didn't exactly study their roster. But basically It could be Johnson, Harris, Boozer, Lopez as their core. Pretty good.

Agreed. FAs are sleeping on NJ. I think they have more pieces and flexibility in place to really, really be something special.

I think the Nets should trade away harris. Harris is not an effecient scorer or passer. And that is what you need out of the Point guard position. He isn't that old and teams will still value him. I would try to trade him away and get a Young point guard and draft picks. It will also give them cap flexibility. Harris is overrated. Shoots horrible from the field and is not pass first. That is a disaster for any team.

Can Cousins play the PF spot (if he lost weight)?

Cousins and Lopez together? Lopez is pretty agile for being a center. That could be a scary front court.

I think Cousins will be the better player out of the 3 players here. Being that big and having a mid range game is deadly. And he proved that he can play, along with having potential.

I love Wes Johnson but I think he is just a very very good role player. I don't see him ever being a all-star unless he plays with a Deron Williams or Chris Paul. Not that its a bad thing but I think Cousins will be a all-star.

Agreed but without Lebron, how special will they really ever be in the next few years?

Though, I heard if they can't get any studs, they'll go hard after Carmello next summer.

Choosing to get a SF in the draft and a PF in free agency makes sense, but I'm still skeptical on this. We've heard for weeks that Avery really liked Favors, then they bring in Cousins and he shoots "lights out" accoring to Chad Ford, and now all of a sudden they're set on Wes Johnson? This is the time where front offices "leak" rumors like crazy, wouldn't be suprised to see if they're just trying to get some sucker (David Kahn) to move up to nab Johnson and the Nets would be content with either Favors or Cousins.

STupid move by them. They should take Favors, making their frontcourt defense BEASTLY. Then they should of gone after Joe Johnson in FA.

Harris
Johnson
Who Cares
Flavors
Lopez

Which means if they dont get any elite free agents this year and set their sights on Carmelo. Ak would be a great trade option. They would love the expiring contract and the player they get. Maybe a three team trade with some one else who might want devin harris. They wont trade Lopez and we dont want anyone else so I guess three team trade is only option.

Given that David Kahn of the Timberwolves was unimpressed with Favors workout and that Cousins refused to work out in Minnesota. What do you think it would take for the Jazz to trade up and nab Favors or Cousins at 4?

By the way my source is Draft Express and ESPN's Chad Ford. Not sure how much stock to put in this development, but here is the Tweet from DraftExpress.

"Wesley Johnson is moving up to 3, New Jersey, on our next mock coming shortly. Told New Jersey will take him and go for a PF in free agency."

EDIT: Maybe package someone with Tomic?

Christ, at one point New Jersey thought about taking Wesley Johnson over Derrick Favors? I just blushed for New Jersey about thinking that.
