I honestly feel that Boozer is a better defender then Al Jefferson. Al Jefferson might be the worst defending big man I have ever seen. The Spurs are totally exploiting this and it is sad to watch.

Really hard question.

Jefferson is terrible in the pick n roll.

Boozer's man defense and overall defensive awareness is just as bad.

I would say pretty even. I think Jefferson is easier to expose though, because so many teams really excel at the pick n roll.

The spurs make Jefferson look silly on defense but pulling away all of our help defenders with 3 point shooting and putting Big in P'n'R against Parker and Duncan.

In straight up post defense and shot blocking Big Al is fairly good.

I did this same exact poll a couple weeks ago. Jefferson is worse, I don't ever re
member getting so frustrated with boozers defense. Plus boozer is much more efficient offensively and is a better rebounder

Defensively Boozer is worse. He does not even try on help defense and can't guard the pNr any better than Jefferson. Jefferson is much better at post defense and help defense. Jefferson is really bad on PnR defense but I'm not sure he's any worse than Boozer. Don't any of you remember him not guarding his man or the PG when in PnR defense? Essentially leaving 2 players wide open.

I can't recall how bad Boozer's defense was overall but I know Al's defense versus pick and rolls is much worse... than anyone in the league.

I had to vote Boozer as being better since he was on basically the best defensive team in the league this year as a starter. I don't think you could ever say that about Jefferson despite Thibodeau's genius.

This is easy...

Boozer is by far more mobile, and quicker, and athletic. If Boozer wanted to, he could be a decent defender, but he chooses not to care on that end. Once or twice a year he does show how good a defender he is, Boozer just doesn't care to play.

I'll take Al over Boozer.

Boozer is easily the worst defender Jazz ever had. Not even a question. Big AL may not have the best P&R defense skills ( neither did Boozer) but he at least tries to play help defense... Boozer on the other hand does not give you any effort in playing defense of any kind whatsoever. All his defense was to slap ball from the hands sometimes as to move all his body in position to help was to lazy for him.

Lol

I cant believe people are actually saying they cant remember how bad Boozer was. Holy Cow, how can you not remember that? Boozer was terrible. Id say its pretty damn close though. Neither one of them care. Al may be slighty better only because he'll block a shot or two.

I meant to vote for Boozer. I thought the question was "Who is worse..."

Should be tied up at 13 a piece. My bad.

Yeah the topic title is one thing and the poll question is another. I voted the wrong one. To answer the question though I think it's pretty even. Al I think it still a better post defender and can protect the paint, but Boozer was a far superior rebounder. I'd still have to give the edge to Al though.

Jefferson at least has some help side defense and gets some blocks doing so. He actually had a few very clutch blocks at the end of games this season.

I don't like either one of them.

I don't like Boozer's personality but he would probably be better for us right now. He think he would help you to win more. At least Boozer would play a little faster and keep the offense moving. I can't believe I even said that.
