Yesterday Portland announced they were signing 4 free agents to take to training camp. I think they already have 15 guaranteed contracts and two players on make good contracts that were on the team last season. The rationale for having this many is that all the teams DLeague affiliate will get the rights to players cut in training camp. So I would expect the Jazz to announce a bunch of these type of signing in the next few days so that the Flash would have the rights to these generally younger players. It also appears that Portland has no interest in signing Patty Mills but the signing of Watson makes the Jazz interest in Mills moot right now.
