New Scary Trend?

Students who aren't prepared for class and need extra time to complete their assignments have learned a new trick.

There was a bomb threat at University of Dayton back in the early 80s. Not new.

I am not saying that they have never happened before. You know that.

I am simply asking does the 3 int he last week mark a scary new trend of bomb threats to universities.

Not bomb threats being new but the trend of them? You are sharper than this.

Always remember, and never forget, One Brow is very smart, and basically humorless.

One time when I was in college I taped a piece of paper on the front door of our dorms that said,

"classes cancelled due to weather." It was about 80 degrees and sunny out.

One kid on my floor read the sign and went back to bed. He was piiiissssed later that day.

The Poisson probability distribution indicates that when something happens randomly but with a general overall frequency, there will be peaks and lulls that occur randomly. It means when baseball players have great months and off months, that's a normal probability thing. It means sometimes you go a few years without a noticeable bomb threat, and then you get a few in a row.

So your answer is that this is just part of the natural cycle that bomb threats will take and not a new trend of frequent bomb threats at major universities.

Basically, yes. It's likely just a temporary fluctuation.
