WELCOME TO JAZZFANZ! If you're new, give an introduction and share how you became a fan?

Always nice to get some new blood in the forums.

Welcome to all the new members!

Greetings fellow Jazzers! I recognize Skyhook, Eddie Zero and Swuul from some previous discussions - respect Gentlemen! Although the forum is a bit polarized right now concerning our best immediate course of action, everyone is surprisingly cordial and respectful for the most part. However you look at things, it really is an exciting time to be a Jazz fan.
Go Jazz!!!

Thanks for the welcome!

I found my way to JazzFanz following Lauri after the trade. You might have quite an influx of Finnish folks like me appearing here as LM is the only NBA player our Northern nation has. Do not be too afraid though as your typical Finn rarely says anything unless he/she is drunk enough in which case they cannot hit the keys on the keyboard anyways.

Even though Lauri was the reason I joined, Jazz was always my team in NBA. I just co-supported Chicago and Cavs while Marky played there. I became Jazz man probably in 1990 due to a pc game called Lakers vs Celtics. I came late to our season opener and my buddies had already selected all the teams I knew anything about so I was left with the Jazz.

I used to play myself for around 30 years and have coached youth teams for 20 or so years.

I fully expected this to be a dreadful tanking season and Marky being moved before I could settle into this new forum but instead I've had the pleasure to watch a team playing hard, moving the ball and actually winning.
Looking forward for the season.

I followed Lauri here after the trade.

In my youth I played pretty much anything that had a ball, these days I play once a week badminton (mainly for the after game beer, of course). I moved to Finland about 40 years ago, and got stuck here, got the citizenship, went to do my conscription time in the Army (one of the perks of becoming citizen) and enjoyed my time there (but not enough to actually go for a career in the Army, instead became an active reservist).

Got a degree, worked from 8 to 16, but that never felt like my thing. Been an entrepreneur for years now, I run a small shop with my wife (we've been together for well over 30 years now), and as our kids have moved out we are just two living in the house (the kids still visit us occasionally though :) ).

Looking forward to an influx in Finnish and Italian fans to the board. Really hope we keep our Aussie fans even though jingles is (say) gone to Milwaukee.

Thanks. As i joined in Cavs forums for Markkanen so i did here. I find it the easiest route to get to know the team so I don't have to be just talking about Markkanen during his time here. I have been most impressed of Kessler and coach Hardy. This team looks fun to watch whatever will be the end results. As i got to know with Cavs and I do know D. Mitchells game it's fun to follow all these teams. As a kid I was a fan of Bulls, but the older I get I have been mostly following to see the best games I ever can find. I wish this team will be one of them better ones in the future, so even if Markkanen gets moved in some point. It sure does look like I will get hooked. The head coach runs just the kinda basketball we euros love.
Karl Malone is the legend I know the best from this organisation c on weekends we watched NBA highlights with bro, and he was one of the favorites.

Thy JazzFanz forum provides an empirically adequate venue for discussion on the team, deductive reasoning, draft picks, the problem of induction, and other Jazz related subjects. Welcome!
I couldn’t agree more Sir! The induction thing is a quandary- why is the Jazz team not better represented in the Hall of Fame? I mean I’m not without theories in this regard but that would imply a deduction whereas it’s only INDUCTION (of a purely Jazz nature of course) into the esteemed Hall that I seek.

Sir R.T.K., this is indeed a point worth pondering. I have just opened one of these “Roosters Honey Wheat” beers, and it shall aid me in my analysis.

Cool! Just remember SBH, whenever the topic comes up around here and some forumite is attempting to seduce you into compromising yourself and your adopted team with fantastic tales of a very tall and skinny Frenchman, the only appropriate response is “NO TANKS”. Just trust me on this one Hook, American slang baby!
