Jefferson and Okur's games compliment each others nicely. Even though Milsap is the better defender at PF than Okur, I think you have to start Okur with Jefferson to make them pay on doubles. AK would be highly relied upon for help D. Milsap is pushed back to the bench but he still gets about 30 minutes so shouldnt care. I think its a big, interesting, and formidable lineup.

C: Jefferson(35)/Okur(13)/KK(x)
PF: Okur(20)/Milsap(28)
SF: AK(32)/Hayward(16)
SG: Miles(30)/Hayward(10)/scrub (8)
PG: Williams(36)/Price(12)/Gaines(x)

Except, Millsap and not Okur, should start at PF.

Need more outside shooting, if we lose both Mathews and Korver. AK and Miles suck in that department.

What are you talking about?

We have 3 wings. When is the last time (short of injury) we had a 3 wing rotation? And why would we do that in the regular season? We're going to get a 4th wing from somewhere. And that guy is going to play at least 15 minutes, and more importantly be capable of playing bigger minutes since we don't have a clue how Hayward will hold up.

Yeah, I think that's a no brainer. Millsap is our PF of the future. Jefferson is the Center of the future. Memo will be coming off the bench, especially after injury.

C: Jefferson/Okur/Koufos
PF: Milsap/Okur
SF: AK/Hayward
SG: Miles/Hayward
PG: Williams/Price

Still need to fill 3 more roster spots. Perhaps Evans, Fess, and Gains or some other hopefuls we can find. Need another wing in case AK goes down.

Then you have to start the rookie Hayward over AK to provide you some shooting and prevent zone hell. I don't see Sloan starting a rookie.

no we CANNOT play cj at the 2. we tried that and failed miserably. cj is too big to follow the SGs. i say we go sign shannon brown who can shoot and can both play 1 and 2

C: Jefferson-Memo
PF: Millsap-AK-Memo
SF: CJ-AK
SG: Brown-Hayward
PG: D-will-Price

I agree. I think Brewer is pretty close to a done deal.

Here's how I see it:

C- Jefferson (35), Okur/Fes (13)
PF- Millsap (35); AK (13); KK as needed
SF- AK (21); CJ (12); Hayward (15)
SG- CJ (22); Brewer (26)
PG- Deron (38); Price/Gaines (10)

*Once Okur is healthy, the 4/5 becomes more of 3-man rotation between Jefferson, Millsap and Okur, with Fes maybe getting 10 mins. AK plays more at SF, and Brewer's minutes are reduced.
Also, Hayward may see his minutes increase as he develops. Jazz will be looking to start him in 2011/2012 season (if there is one).

If you start Sap and Jefferson you can't start AK. In fact as much as that combo might work on defense we would get killed by zone's. Damn Korver would be nice to have..........Also, Brewer is not an answer for us and Matthews is too expensive now. Have to trade AK for someone who can shoot the ball from the 2 and slide CJ over the 3.

Deron
Sharpshoot 2
CJ
Sap
Jefferson

That starting five could do some damage, although I think you have to get Memo a lot of minutes, he will really help spread the floor.

That's pretty much exactly how I see it. Except I see Fes getting cut (well, they could choose him over KK, but I don't see both of them back.) And I don't know that Brewer is the guy. Could still be anyone else at half the MLE.

Brewer doesn't fill a need for us. He doesn't shoot well. No one knows how he is doing after his injury, his biggest asset was his athletic ability and that may be hampered after the injury. Plus we are shooting our wad on Jefferson. If we want to upgrade this roster if Jefferson goes down then I can't see it happening without moving AK.

Um, it's very possible that Hayward will be nicer to have. It might take years for GH to be as sharpshooting as KK, but I see him being a better defender--if for no other reasons that he's a bit taller and that he wears his socks a little lower on his calves ;).

Summer league isn't a definitive indicator, but it's a good sign.

I totally agree that CJ isn't our 2. At this point, assuming Matthews, who I would love in this line-up, is gone, we need to sign a cheap combo of Brewer and Brown or the equivalent. The offense won't come from Brewer, but depending on the match-ups he'd need to just play decent defense and take what he could get. I also don't see Memo starting, especially after his injury, unless match-ups dictate it for some reason. I'd see the probable line-up as such:

Deron/Price
Brewer/Brown/or cheap alternatives
Miles/AK/Haywood
Sap/AK/KK
Big Al/Memo/KK and Fes (I also think Fes gets more burn against teams like the Lakers)

If that's our starting lineup then we'll lose. A LOT. Only 1 player on that starting lineup is consistent from outside with one other semi decent outside shooter. Your lineup sucks bad. Memo over sap or some sort of SG that can actually shoot is a must if Sap and Jefferson are your starting front court. I am hoping for Harrington still. And depending on salary maybe Brown. But not Brewer.
