I'm so happy I'm not a Browns fan.
Why are they called the Browns?
I guess when you **** the bed like that, it's a natural fit.
My Eagles can take first place tonight!
Man, the East sucks.
The Eagles may be the worst first place team ever. Ha ha.
Much better than being the best last place team.
Who knew their defense would be so amazing. It's too bad they couldn't get Mariota.
Yes. Multiple times iirc. And yes, it's dumbI wonder if a team with a losing record has ever qualified for the playoffs?
Also the fact that both the Eagles (3-3) and the Colts (3-3) are topping their respective divisions is kinda amazing also ...
I wonder if a team with a losing record has ever qualified for the playoffs?
It helps lead to much better parity in the NFL. Isn't it like only 9 teams have won the NBA championship? In the NFL 19 different teams have won at least once.
I think I read somewhere that this isn't true. I think it said that over the last 20 years, the NFL has the least amount of parody and MLB has the highest, which is crazy because MLB has no salary cap and NFL does.
The problem with NFL and NBA is one player is so much more important. If you have a QB, you'll win for 10 years, no matter how bad your "team" is. Same with NBA. One player can carry you.
In MLB, your best pitcher only pitches 20% of the time. You best hitter only hits 11% of the time and the really good ones are only successful 30% of that time. So a great hitter is only successful 4% of the game.
You need a "team" much more than NFL or NBA.
There is more parity in the NFL because of injuries, contracts, and the nature of a single game elimination playoff format. More than anything it's single elimination playoff format. There is also the regular season format where teams strength of schedule can greatly vary.
Anytime you increase the sample size, you have a higher chance at the true outcome. If you play a game 7 times, chances are the best teams is going to win. If you play a game 1 time, anything can really happen.
have your compared parity before free agency started versus after?
