NFL 2015 Season Discussion Thread

LOL .. the NFL OT... gotta love (or hate) it.

Not sure how I myself even feel about this but I think it would be interesting to still allow the second team (the Packers in this case) the ball back but if they score a TD, they have to go for the 2 pt conversion.

I love the college OT. hate the nfl ot.

A coin toss should have exactly zero effect on the outcome of a game.

Instead, it has a huge effect on the outcome. So stupid.

If you are going to keep the ot sudden death style then at least get rid of the coin toss (luck) to determine who gets the ball first.
Do something competitive and entertaining.

Have a field goal kicking competition between the two kickers. Keep moving the ball further away until someone misses.

Have each team pick their strongest player and make them arm wrestle.

Have the coaches do a trivia competition.

Each team pick the 2 fastest players on their team and have them race the length of the football field.

Have each teams starting qb throw the ball as far as they can and whoever throws it the farthest gets the ball first.

Something. Anything other than a coin toss, which has nothing to do with competition or entertainment, deciding who gets the ball first and has the advantage to win the game

Or perhaps being professional football players they can actually make plays when the need to. Packers gave a WIDE OPEN look to Fitz in arguably the most crucial part of the game.

This is true. It's also true that a ****ing coin toss having any effect on the outcome of a football game is retarded

Wow ... AMAZING finish to this Vikings game... PG_AB is having a heart attack somewhere...

How can he miss it that close to the goal post?!?!?!

Sigh.. I knew he was gonna miss it, I'm pretty good at spotting inflection points in games and I knew that Peterson fumble was going to bring major trouble, and it sure did.. Kinda like that UK-Wisconsin final 4 game, it started out with a landslide of rebounds/balls bouncing to Wiscky and I knew that was a very bad sign.

Still not as bad as Gary Andersen's missed kick in the NFC championship game after going 35/35 in the regular season, or this;

It's up there though.. Not as bad as that officiating in the NFC Championship game vs the Saints where they were let Farve get mauled without throwing flags.

Walsh for some strange reason is better from like 40 yards than those chipshots. He absolutely just shanked that last kick, the laces were facing right at him, still he's gotta make that 27 yards!!! He was missing all those chipshot FG's and extra-points in the preseason, then he missed like 4 extra-points this season, his percentage's were good.. Damn shame though --- The Vikings defense played like world beaters and it wasn't enough.

Still we have a young squad thats loaded with talent. 2 probowl offensive lineman were out the entire season, and we took the division for the first time since '09 and have a good shot at defending it next year.

Don't even have too many holes to plug, could use upgrades at RG, FS, LT, a weakside linebacker, and a red-zone tall WR type -- preferably one who can catch the ball and run routes..

All in all a good season. Would've been cool to see how the Vikes matched up again Carolina though, I'm kinda rooting for Seattle to take them out now..

Of course the Seahawks don't even show up to this game.. Looking like a team just going thru the motions right now. Looking like a team that knew they were eliminated last week, but got bailed out.

Once the Vikings got into Blair Walshes range they should've kicked the FG instead of building it up. I know it's not ideal, but If they did that in the regular season vs the Cardinals they'd have brought that game to OT and had a possibility at a 1st round bye too.

Yeah this almost 21-0 in the 1st Q. It is Seattle so don't count them out but the Panthers are owning them right now.

At this point it looks like it will be:

Cardinals @ Panthers for the NFC

Pats v ???

The Steelers had a chance with Antonio Brown, but now that he's out it will be tough for them against the surging Broncos.

It's just how I like it though, I love rooting for the underdogs... LOL

Surging Broncos? They have schizophrenic all damn year. I'm convinced that Peyton is going to cost them either this game or the next one. He's is the worst QB in the playoffs this year and that includes his own teammate.
.
Their defense is spectacular though that should be enough for this game unless Manning throws 2+ picks again.
