NFL Discussion Thread - 2013

How has SanFran faired since Smith left?

How were they before Harbaugh got there?

Last I checked football had 11 people on the field at once. A good team won't crumble with losing 1 guy.

For example Von Miller is suspended 6 games and Denver is just fine.

Your attempts to discredit one man is funny. Find a hobby.

Your attempts to prove me wrong are hilarious.

You just proved my point by saying one man doesn't make the difference. So of course the Niners and KC can win inspite of Alex.

Stick to the war and political threads

And yet you are trying to give all KC credit to one guy. It's a team effort and Smith is a good piece.

Maybe you should stick to the UGLI Forum.

No. I simply pointed out how important the coach is. I give credit to all the players on KC. Just not Alex.

Stick to eating boogers.

I was hoping we'd dedicate another 150-175 posts in the NFL thread again this year as to the validity of Alex Smith as a QB.

It will end soon. I'm sure KC will flame out soon enough.

We can talk about something else if you'd like?

How about how awesome the Giants are?

The Giants are league leaders! They are rocking it. Interceptions are valuable. Giants have been very charitable with that so far.

KC has a good defense. Wasn't really familiar with Alex Smith but now that he is in the AFC West I have to keep an eye on him. Man, he sucks.

I love Alex smith and I hope he takes the chiefs to the playoffs this year...

In fact, I'm an honorary chief fan this season!

Thought I would throw in my two cents to the Alex smith thread...

I thought KC's defensive effort Thursday night was more impressive than Seattle on Sunday night. And Seattle was lights out on defense against San Fran - just KC did it on the road and against a better offense.

Andy Reid is a good coach.

He just needed a decent defense and a QB that didn't turn the ball over every single play.

Chip Kelly is finding out what everyone tries to forget... Michael Vick sucks.

As an athlete, he's tremendously gifted and very entertaining.

But as a QB? He's horrible. A disaster. Someone who you will never win consistently with.

He doesn't read defenses and cannot refrain from turning the ball over. How many more years must this be proven? Shaq couldn't shoot FTs and Vick cannot be a winning QB.

It's that simple.

Until Philly gets a QB, they'll always be limited. Sure, they might be very entertaining. But they'll never win as long as turnover plagued Vick is taking snaps.

For KC, as long as they manage games, they'll be just fine. Will they beat Denver? Hell no. But will they drop games to teams they shouldn't because of stupid turnovers? Nope.

Ahh, very satisfying to see the Colts curb stomp the 9ers, especially since I didn't see it coming at all.

Uhmm wow I wouldn't have picked my Phins to win either of the last 2 games in Indi or at home against ATL. The Phins Oline and Dline absolutely had been dominated all game but in the 4th they pulled it together long enough to comeback and get the win.

The AFC East looked to be one of the if not the weakest div in football but so far IMO the NFC East has looked the worst, especially all the hype on some of the teams, players and coaches going into the season. Of course it is still early in the season so things can easily change.

Even though I'm not happy the Fish beat the Colts last week, I am happy that they may be a legit challenge to the Pats.

Just bitter you were eliminated today from the Survivor game? I'm very surprised by how disappointing the 9'ers have been, although I'm not that shocked on the defensive side. They have major weaknesses in the secondary and let their top two NT's leave via FA. Then, their replacement broke his ankle early this year. Time to make some changes on offense.

Smith is a good QB. 9'ers just thought they had the next great one with Kaepernick. After some TO problems early in his career, Smith has found his niche by playing error-free football characterized by short throws. It was just maddening to see him throw a 4-yd pass on 3rd and 7 time and time again. Alex won't lead a ton of come-from-behind wins, but he's consistent. Give him some weapons, namely a good running game and a stout defense and he's going to lead his team to victories. Will that be enough for the entire playoffs? Who knows. It certainly was for Trent Dilfer and Baltimore some years ago.

So excited for the Phins! But they did look horrible upfront on D today. Is it possible that they missed Paul Solia that much? D's gotta get better because Brees and the Saints lay in wait.
