NFL Discussion Thread - 2013

I'm so ready for Monday Night Football. Got about a dozen friends coming over to watch the game. Go Broncos...

Perhaps there is something to the supposed curse of the Super Bowl loser. This season is off to a pretty disastrous start for the 49ers. It all started when Crabtree tore his achilles early in the offseason. Then we lost our #3, and perhaps most talented CB, Chris Culliver to a torn ACL. LaMichael James got hurt towards the end of preseason. Ian Williams breaks his ankle, and is lost for the year. Aldon Smith is an alcoholic, and is now taking an indefinite leave of absence to seek treatment. Vernon Davis missed the game today with a strained hamstring. Patrick Willis has a groin injury that forced him out of the game early today, and will force him to miss the Rams game this Thursday. Kaepernick has looked terrible the past two games, and the receivers can't get any separation. Now reports are surfacing that Frank Gore is angry with Harbaugh, and had words for him at the end of the game today. Things are really looking ugly right now.

Just bitter you were eliminated today from the Survivor game?
Nah, I've been a Colts fan for about 25 years now.

Well I am bitter about the Survivor pool too, but those are two mutually exclusive things haha.

At least my second favorite team (this year) won. Go Whoever Is Playing the Redskins!!!! 3-0 so far!

I'm starting to think all the teams know how to defend Kapernick now........

Well except for the Packers.

Kaepernick is being forced to become more of a pocket passer. The 49ers offensive line seems to have gotten worse as well. Or maybe overrreaction

I'm conflicted. I don't know if the Raider fan in me is going to show up at all tonight. I think I like Peyton Manning more. And I really hate Terrelle Pryor.

So excited for the Phins! But they did look horrible upfront on D today. Is it possible that they missed Paul Solia that much? D's gotta get better because Brees and the Saints lay in wait.
I haven't seen a Saints game this year but I know their O is still great but is their D (especially pass D) still bad? Just asking because I wasn't sure if their D could dominate any Oline like ATL did to MIA on Sunday.

Also one thing that wont help the Phins is Cameron Wake is likely out 2-3 with his injury, IMO he would be the biggest impact player to slow down Brees with his pass rush.

That Broncos offense looks unstoppable.

Peyton has never been surrounded with such talent. Makes you wonder how much better he would have been if he would have been surrounded with more talent in Indy. Sheesh. They look like a varsity offense destroying scout team defense.

Broncos have scored 127 points in 3 games (it could have been 148 if not for a fumble in the redzone each game). Next closest is Greenbay who is 31 points behind. Peyton Manning has 12 TD passes and is on pace to blow Brady's 50 TD in a season record out of the water with 64.

Defense is good but not perfect. Denver still also needs to work on stupid giveaways. 3 fumbles this game. Denver won't be playing the Giants and Raiders every week.

Edit: Denver also has 4 receivers with over 190 yards. Next closest team is Green Bay with 3.

The thing that's scary about the Broncos right now is that they have some key players out with injuries and suspensions and they don't look any worse for it.

Yup. Champ Bailey and Von Miller (arguably the #1 and #2 Defensive guys) have yet to play. Not to mention Kuper and Clady on the O line.
