NFL Draft discussion

How do you like Derek Carr?

It's really hard to gauge. His #'s are ridiculous though. 50/8 td to INT ratio. But there have been plenty of guys like that have flamed out. Basically, I haven't seen too much of him so I don't really have any strong opinions. The Raiders do need a QB/a future QB though, so hey, they kind of had to make that pick.

Carr should be a good look for the Raiders, id expect them to go after a WR for him with the 7th pick of the 4th round, Possibly Bruce Ellington or Martavis Bryant

and Katie_MCR, the 49ers have the 6th pick of the 4th round, and Keith McGill is still on the board, im gonna take a wild guess and say thats the selection

My Vikings dont have any 4th rounders but 2 at the top of the 5th. we need Secondary help im hoping for players like McGill, Pierre Desir, Shaq Richardson, Brock Vereen, Bashaud Breeland, Jaylen Watkins, Marcus Roberson, E.J Gaines, Deion Belue, Craig Loston and Dion Bailey to drop.

other than Safties or CB the other position i could see filled is LB, hopefully Christian Jones or Telvin Smith from FSU

I think it's a safe bet that one of McCarron/Murray will be able to be a pretty decent QB in the NFL at least. Like those picks in the 5th.

How come nobody is picking Trevor Reilly? He's a steal now.

So the whole Michael Sam thing, would he have been picked by now if he didn't come out?

Obviously his size and athletic ability isn't ideal for a NFL player, and he has to learn a new position, but it seems like he would have gone by now just by the virtue of his stats in the SEC.

I want to give the Phin's new GM time to prove himself in how he drafts and try to remember the previous GM fIreland left him in a not so good position but boy it's hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. Just seems the more things change the more they stay the same.

I know they needed OL and then OL and really needed an OL. They definitely addressed that need but in doing so thought there were better players on the board they could and should've picked and they really reached for the OL they did pick.

Again I understand the previous GM left him in a tough spot with his drafting mistakes/misses and FA mistakes/misses but if you only draft for need and not talent/BPA your just extending those previous mistakes. That to me is exactly what this draft feels like, that poor decisions leads to more poor decisions out of necessity and nothing ever changes.

I hope I'm wrong and that it ends up being a good draft but I'm not seeing it. The Phins may have passed OAK and the Browns as the worst FO. Any Jazz fans that complain about the Jazz FO, I always shake my head and think they have no idea how lucky they are and how bad it can really be.

I bet a zoob friend a year ago that Cody Hoffman would not be drafted.

He said he'd be a 2nd rounder at worst. Lol

He's not a combine warrior..... that really hurt him. He is a natural playmaker however, and my guess is he'll stick in the NFL for awhile. RG3 to Hoffman TDs coming to a TV set near you.

Rams won the draft, IMO. Tre Mason will be a pro-bowler, Sam at the end of the draft as the SEC defensive player of the year could be a steal, and Joyner out of FSU was probably the best DB I saw last year in college football. That besides the fact they got the consensus #1 OL and probably the best DT as well.

I have no idea what they were thinking wasting a pick on Gilbert, but I'm not sure it matters much.

Murphy was as smart as Kruger leaving early. Dat Ute education, doe.

Kruger Biff'd hard (Joe Kruger for those not familiar) but I can't blame Murphy for leaving. His stock wasn't getting any higher, he's super old and somewhat of a finished product. Kruger was just discovering some of his talent when he left.

If you analyze the NFL like you do the NBA, the above post should be very concerning to YB.
