NFL lockout over???

Not really. There is still an injunction the league has filed saying that this judge did not have to power to cancel the lockout (or some other legal mumbo jumbo). Still a long way from having a season next year. But this was the next step in this BS process. This had to come down one way or the other.

Yes I know. Hence the three question marks.

So let's see...this puts us about 45-60 days out of any type of decision, which means that QB's and WR's miss all the OTA drills. Great.

Yea next year will suck with no basketball, no football and no great weather to make you forget that there are no sports going on.

At least there will still be college football. Although, lately it seems like you cant turn on the TV without watching some college football powerhouse being slapped by the NCAA for something or another.

Lol. True. But college football all but ends in November. There are bowls to watch but most of them are terrible. It would be great if there were a playoff to watch. Then we would not miss NFL or NBA until January.

So do I have this correctly (I think I do): The NFL will appeal the decision and another judge will rule on the appeal in 45 to 60 days. If that judge also rules in favor of the players, the lockout is essentially over and the NFL will then continue as business as usual under the old agreement until a new agreement is reached. Is that about right?

Now, I don't think it's set in stone that we'll have to wait 45 to 60 days before having football. Losing this decision was a major blow to the Owner's bargaining power to say the least. The owners may now be a little more interested in making some concessions to the players while they wait out the appeals process because if the appeal is denied the owners will have lost almost all of their leverage.
