NFL Survival Pool

I wouldn't touch that Denver/Oakland game in week 1 of a survivor pool, but more power to you.

Me? I took Houston over Indy this week.

Yeah, I considered that but I think everybody could be vastly underestimating the Colts. I know Collins looked awful the last couple seasons but he's not too far removed from that 13-3 season for the Titans and his veteran leadership concerns me in a situation like this.

I took them. New coach. Vastly underrated qb. Prime time game. At home where they're historically great. They usually start the year well and then fade. And the Raiders overachieved big time last year and will not repeat that again without Nnamdi and a few other guys. I expect the Raiders to go 4-12 at best.

Oakland is a better team than Denver. Oakland wins.

If they lose they aren't off the board...but if you pick the Texans they are.

Unless I totally misread that comment.

Yeah, I got a little messed up in my thinking. Houston's off the board, not Indy. I just don't want to get into the position where I have to pick NE to lose to Cinci in order to stay alive in week 12.

I know the feeling. It's a perplexing strategy, either to choose the mega favorites and try to last as long as you can or to gamble and have them in your pocket for later.

I thought about taking Houston but with their RB having the hamstring issue and them still being the Texans I couldn't sack up to take them.

So we have 17 people this year as opposed to something like 8 last year...wow, the sticky power is power!

So where are all the UofU/Alex Smith fans? No one taking Mr. Smith and the 9'ers over Seattle?

I went with San Diego over Minnesota. First time I've played Survivor. I guess I need to look at the entire schedule over 17 weeks. Otherwise the heavy favorites will be gone by mid-season. SF might be one team I NEVER take. That offensive line is terrible and Smith is too prone to TO's. Only hope they have is getting "Luck"-y in next year's draft.

Not a bad pick actually. They've lost their last two times in San Francisco. But I don't have enough balls to make it.

Just pointing out do you know the starting record for the Chargers the past few seasons? That was the only reason I didn't consider taking them, yet.

I can't believe Ute homers aren't taking SF over Seattle. Seattle might have an even worse QB (hard to believe, I know!). Jackson is horrible!

Me too. Rivers looks like he's ona mission but if McNabb plays well, AP is AP, and the defense doesn't suck, anything can happen.
