What's new

NFL Talk

He's going to have your QB throw deep a lot, and has an unusual aversion to screens.

In Cleveland it seemed like he only ran about 5 plays. That was maybe because Colt was running the offense without a lot of support from the coaches, and was still nursing that bum shoulder from the previous year. He didn't have a lot of arm last season.

2009 was an utter abomination. Granted, Quinn/Anderson throwing to rookies and scrubs is not a recipe for the playoffs but that offense was just f'n ugly. He made a lot of very, very bad play calls.

Tebow looked good running with the 2's - 5/6 - 90 some yards - Did throw a Pick that was nullified but also ran a TD that was nullified.
I will say that Fox will turn that team around and Denvers Defense will be much better this year.

Also New England laid the smack down on Jacksonville but the rookie QB for the Jags looked good - 4 dropped passes including a crucial one that would have put them at the 10.

Mallett will be a good follow up to Brady here in a few years as well. Always though he would be a good NFL QB if he keeps his head on straight.

Phillip Rivers may just lead the league in TD's this year with Jackson back as well.

How long until Trent Edwards is the starting QB over Jason Campbell in Oakland?

Paul Kruger - 4 Tackles, 1 Sack, 1 TFL
Max Hall - 4/4 - 66 Yards - 1 TD - 0 INT

I still think Denver should wait at least another year for Tebow to start. His accuracy is trash and he will get eaten up by first team defenses.

Too funny. I was actually going to compare him to Fiedler too. I was a Miami fan when he was there and I loved the guy. When they made the playoffs, it was their great defense that buckled more than anything else. Thomas, Taylor, Surtain, that other other corner (was it Buckley?), they all crumbled.
Close but nope T Buck was gone by then it's Sam Madison you're thinking of, I always thought Madison was the more noticeable name then Surtain not that it matters just surprised me you knew the Phins that well.

It saddens me to say this, but I think that the Jets miss the playoffs this year. The 3 WR's they lost, each were a pivotal part of the offense. And I doubt Plaxico can make up the loss of any them, at least not in his first season.

We'll see, but there's also a decent chance Sanchez also improves/becomes more consistent.

I now hate you. You should be ashamed to call yourself a Jets fan. I know I'm ashamed for you.

I'm sorry... I didn't know what I was thinking. I'm sorry.

But do you actually believe they are better than last year? The defense will still be top 3 in the league... but I have my doubts about the O

Are you kidding me? I'm a Jets fan, I'm always waiting for the other shoe to drop. And yes, I have some questions about the offense.

Yall's first string run D looked pretty good at least.

I haven't watched the game yet. Plan to watch it on NFL Network tonight. From what I've read online, the defense as a whole was about the only bright spot. This is without the following starters: Spencer, Goldson, and Sopoaga. I'm concerned about the O-line. I hope they can improve, but it sounds like they were absolutely terrible.

Brownies looked really good against GB. Colt McCoy sold a bunch of jerseys last night. That TD to Cribbs was money. G Little laid somebody OUT on a crossing block, and the OLine was excellent providing time for Colt. Despite starting 3 guys on DLine that have never started a game, they did a very good job pressuring the pocket.

Pretty good start for Shurmur & Co. Our streak against SB champs continues... LOL!

The 49ers are bringing Daunte Culpepper in for a workout tomorrow. This should be interesting.

That is not good. Culpepper completely sucks. You would have been better off keeping Jarret Brown. (Who was not good at all even as 3rd string btw.)

Have some faith in Kaep. That dude is a maniac playmaker. I figure they'll give Smith a half year to see if he can pull it out, if / when he doesn't, in comes the Kaeper.

Well you know your team sucks when you get embarrassed by the Lions.

Watch out for the Lions this year - If Stafford stays healthly he will be good and has weapons around him. Losing their Rookie RB for the year hurts, but they have talent. Their Defense will be much improved with Fairly and Suh in the middle as well.

Yall should just play Kaeper from the get go, go 0-16, then draft Luck.
