NFL Talk

Heard on the radio today an idea of Indy trading Peyton Manning to the Redskins for the 4th or 5th pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Colts then get Luck(1st overall) & Blackmon(OSU WR) (4th or 5th). Instead of paying Manning his 28 million or whatever bonus next year.

What say you Colts and Skins fans?

I would hope to god (for the sake of Redskins fans) that Washington wouldn't do that. They seem like a poorly run franchise though.

The Colts should jump on that. They could get a franchise qb and potential stud #1 wr (though I'm not overly impressed by him from the little I've seen) who can be groomed by solid professionals like Wayne and Clark, tight end or not. If I were a Colts fan, I'd love it even more if they could then parlay that 4th pick into something like the 8th pick AND someone's 2nd rounder which is probably about what you could get according to Brandt's board, though I think the values of high first rounders has sort of changed in GM's minds more recently. In any case, if they could do something like that, and get Blackmon or Richardson at 8, AND get that extra 2nd rounder as well, they could come out of the draft with something like Luck, Blackmon, plus three other quality picks with two 2nds and their own early 3rd.

I personally feel like they could get even more for Manning, especially from some dumb team like the Skins who would overpay for the guy, despite his age and the fact that he's coming off a major injury. The Skins would give up their 1st and a 2nd next year I bet...but they won't get the 4th or 5th pick I don't think. Probably more like 8th.

Payton Manning is untradeable. Growing nerves in your neck is not a guaranteed process and he is not fixed. These Madden conversations are laughable.

"Hey Jesus,
Please take a minute away from famine, war, plagues, and pestilence to help me convert this 3rd down.

Thanks
-St Tebow"

To believe such absurd notions and PRACTICE THEM ON THE FIELD is either purely stupid, callous, or both. Whichever, it's obnoxious, and it fits perfectly into my hatred of everything Denver Broncos. Swill for rednecks.

I admire how hard Tebow plays and how he inspires his teammates to play as hard as he does, but if I hear him say one more time in an interview how blessed he is I'm gonna puke.

What the **** happened to Cincy's offensive line on that last possession of the game? Getting absolutely DESTROYED on 3-man rushes on four consecutive plays... just... all of the sudden?

Yeah, it was disgusting. Cincy got hosed on a missed horse collar call on Suggs that caused the intentional grounding.

And Pernell McPhee is a boss.

Cincy shouldn't have even been in that position. They scored a TD that was taken away from them. This "completing the process of the catch" is bull****. If a receiver has possession when the ball crosses the goal line, that's a TD.

I agree. In this situation, the play was over as soon as that receiver went out of bounds with posession. That should be a touchdown.

I liked Suggs coming out of college (AZ St. I believe) but over the years I've changed my mind on him. I'm not a Balt fan (just follow the 2 Utes on the team) but I do respect their D and believe they play hard and push the limit but aren't dirty, except for Suggs he crosses that hard/dirty line too often for my liking and seems to get away with it the majority of the time which pisses me off even more.

As a Bears fan, I'm not sure how I feel about Cutler breaking his thumb. I mean, I don't like him at all, but he's been playing well. The Bears are screwed without him.

At least they have reliable run game, so whatever backup comes in won't be completely screwed like last year.

I like Suggs just because he looks like Bizmarke

I don't think we're that screwed. The schedule is pretty favorable. at Oakland, Kansas City, at Tebow, Seattle, then at Green Bay and at Minnesota. 4-2 isn't out of the question even with Hanie starting. Hell, Green Bay could have the #1 seed locked up by that game and rest their key players. That could be winnable considering what Hanie did against them last year. Obviously I think the Bears lose this Sunday at Oakland, but I don't think the season is shot. It's not like we were going to beat New Orleans or Green Bay in the playoffs with Cutler anyway.

Or another way to look at it is you have four road games left with a backup qb at the helm. The home games vs. Seattle and KC should be wins but many an upset occur every week. I'd be shocked if the Bears go 4-2 or better finishing things out. I'd guess 3-3 but 2-4 or worse would not surprise me. What would surprise me is GB resting their players. I think they want an undefeated season. I have no reason to suggest that but it's just the feeling I get watching them.
