NFL Talk

Call me crazy but I have a feeling Detroit is going to beat the Saints. They lost 31-17 earlier this year but Stafford was playing with a broken index finger and recently he has looked just as good as Brees and Rogers. Plus they didnt have three of their best defenders in Chris Houston, Louis Delmas and Suh. Anything is possible when you have a freak like Megatron on your team
as a 49er fan I will be a big Detroit fan this weakened. I'm not sure the 49ers match up well with NO.

Well since the Bungles just Bungled it looks like the Steelers, if they win, get a rematch in New England.

Wow, Saints are getting so unlucky with fumbles. Hopefully they come out a more disciplined team in the 2nd half. Calvin Johnson is destroying the secondary.

Ahh, the Saints offense is just too much for the Lions to handle. Will be interesting to see if Lions can respond. The Saints defense plays way better when they are ahead.

I think the Saints offense will be too much for the 49'ers to handle. SF always seems to give up a couple of big passing plays per game. Against NO, expect them to give up 4-5 big ones and not be able to stop the passing game. They just don't have a good secondary, nor great pass rushers outside of Aldon Smith. And having Alex Smith at QB, as much as he's improved and cut down on mistakes, is still like bringing a pea-shooter to a gun fight.

As a 9'er fan, I hope I'm wrong, but I see NO winning big, just like they did against Detroit.

You're overlooking one giant factor here. NO is not nearly as good on the road as they have been at home. I am confident that the Niners defense can stop NO. Remember the Giants game from the regular season? Remember what people were saying before that game? Basically the same things you just said. 49ers will come out on top.

I am quite confident whoever wins the NFC wins the Superbowl. Of the four NFC teams left, I might take them over ANY AFC team. New England's offense always gives them a chance, but their D is nothing but traffic cones and Baltimore's D always gives them a chance, but their offense comes and goes. I don't see Pittsburgh making any real noise (after they crush Tebow and he retires to become a moron at the pulpit), nor the Texans.

I'll hold off on calling the power shift to be official now, but all four NFC teams are pretty damn scary right now.

The Giants were one play away from winning their game in SF - and Eli isn't quite the QB that Brees is.

I wouldn't use that game as an example.

As a Saints fan, we aren't nearly as good on the road. I still think we win, but the Niners scare me a bit. It will be an interesting game. Can Alex Smith play well in a playoff game? Will the Saints rush D show up? Can the Niners create TO's?

Giants also almost beat GB. It wouldn't be the first time that they started clicking on all cylinders at the right time and end up winning the SB.

NFC playoff teams are all insanely legit.

With their defensive line, a veteran HC, and Eli (who plays better the bigger the game is) anything is possible.

LOL - the propensity for people and the media to write of Tim Tebow is staggering. I was listening to an update to the Broncos - Steelers game in my car and when The Steelers were driving on their first possession, the reporter made it sound like they were on the verge of going up 42-0.

I'm not in love with the guy. I don't agree with his views and the constant Tebowing is obnoxious; but I'm inclined to root for him considering all the **** he gets from people and pundits who are so determined to be right about him.
