NFL Talk

If the Giants go the Superbowl it will be a rematch with either Baltimore or New England. Green Bay/New England another rematch.

Call it that if you like but when none of the players are even on the team from the previous match-up, it's not exactly a rematch in my book. The NY/NE one is of course but not the other two.

Wow...

The NFL today is like bizarro NBA.

New York, a large market team, is being screwed by the refs in favor of a small market team. Unbelievable how they didn't overturn that fumble. Tuck and Piere are being held on almost every play. And on that 3rd and goal for the Giants, take a look at what the GB tackle did do the NY guard. Almost took his helmet off with illegal contact to the facemask.

Packers are arguably as, if not more popular nationwide than the Giants. Market size means squat in the NFL. (Pittsburgh, GB, Indy, New Orleans)

There's holding on virtually every NFL play.

Go Giants! How incredible would it be for the 9'ers to be hosting the NFC Championship game? Oh me of little faith...I was happy to see them just finish >.500. Thought if they did they'd have a chance of winning the NFC West, but never gave Alex a shot at winning a playoff game. I'll be cheering for a Brothers Harbaugh rematch on neutral turf.

I honestly think it's going to be a Niners-Pats SB. It's never the popular match-up everyone would love to see, in this case GB/NE. And I just can't picture Baltimore in the SB at all though they do always play (and often beat) New Engalnd well. I'm not saying they won't go. I just can't picture it. I also can't see the Giants there I don't think.

If Katie were to have guessed this 3 months ago, I would have loved to see your reaction to her post at the time. Good for her for sticking with her team for so long, and good for her franchise for managing to not only have a great regular season, but win one of the most exciting football matches I have ever seen

What a terrible spot. Bradshaw had the first down. The calls against New York continue to mount up. This is so weird to see refs give every call to the small market team.

Preseason NFL Odds on winning the Superbowl
Odds to win the 2012 Super Bowl:

Green Bay … 7-1
New England … 10-1
Atlanta … 15-1
Baltimore … 15-1
New Orleans … 15-1
N.Y. Giants … 20-1
Houston … 35-1
San Francisco … 40-1
Detroit … 45-1
Cincinnati … 60-1
Denver … 60-1

That's it. Giants are coming to San Francisco. It should be a great game. Giants played the Niners very close in the regular season. Happy to see the 49ers having the chance to host the NFC Championship Game. Next Sunday will be great! 30 years after The Catch, will The Catch III propel the 49ers to their 6th Super Bowl win?

I'm going to say Giants/Pats Superbowl. I think Gaints beat San Fran. New Orleans should have beat them, but made too many mistakes early and too poor of defense late.

I think I'm going to go ahead and throw 1k down on the Giants winning it all. This is 2007 or 2008 or whatever it was all over again.

Really? So the 49ers defense (most takeaways and best turnover margin) had absolutely nothing to do with the turnovers? It's okay, keep doubting the Niners. It's been that way the whole season. The Niners have done great in the underdog role. Niners will be in the Super Bowl.

I've been careful not to talk trash all season, but man what a ride. Giants came into the season with huge salary cap problems, got killed in free agency and then were decimated with injuries. Their linebacking corps has been held together by spit and scotch tape all season. Starting rookies, even undrafted one. And Chase Blackburn, God love the guy, but 8 weeks ago he was pumping gas in Piscataway and now he's a starting LB on an NFC Championship team. With a healthy Tuck, Osi and Pierre-Paul, Giants front line covered a lot of holes in the D late in the season, now it's all coming together.

Should be a good game next week - San Fran is 8-1 at home. And their only loss was a fluke win by The Cowboys in OT. But The Giants already showed that they can play there.

1 turnover was off a helmet to helmet hit that gave our best RB a concussion. Had we had have those points and that player in the game, we would have won. Not to mention we were missing our other starting WR (Moore) and our original starting RB (Ingram)
The 2 pics were all legit and nice.
The special teams fumble was just a bad decision, totally Payton's fault by putting Roby in.
